Yeah I remember Ferrari F355 Challenge, I loved playing that game in the arcades. The DC version was a little dull compared to it, strangely enough... ;-)
Collecting all 14 emeralds in Sonic 3 + Sonic & Knuckles and being told you can now be Hyper Sonic. I was to too young to afford cheat magazines and there was no easy internet so it was a total surprise.
best gaming momeny was getting a ps1 because it turned me into a complete video-game kid where i would sit for hours playing resi, ridge racer, teken where as before i wasn't into games much .
Finding Counter-Strike Source retail in El Corte Inglés for 19.95€. Finding a Mega CD 2 with all it's leads in a junk shop for 2000 Pesetas (1 PTA = 1 EN). Playing Sonic 3 for the first time. Taking my Dreamcast out of the box, the 25 of December of 2001. Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Jet Set Radio... All my best memories are from the Dreamcast. Getting PSO, PSOX, PSOBB, PSOGC, PSU...
Funny you mention that becos all I remember about Sonic 3 was feeling a complete letdown. Dunno, maybe becos SonicCD the year before was beyond awesome, almost perfect, so when 3 came we (me and many of my friends) were expecting something even better, yet we got a game that while with improved graphics and some puzzles was too damn short... But thankfully S&K fixed that, making Sonic3&Knuckles the best 2D platformer in the world IMO:thumbsup:
Playing Mortal Kombat & SFII in my local arcade when i should have been at school. Getting my N64 with Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64 and Banjo Kazooie for my birthday all those years back. Storming the beach on Medal Of Honor: Frontline. Seeing the sunbeams bursting through the trees above on Gran Turismo 3.
Exploring freedom in Morrowind. Achieving 1st place everywhere in WipEout 2097. HALO1 - 2nd level. FF7 - buying, fighting, exploring. Coop in TM2WT. Toy Commander (solo / multi). Arcades in Shenmue.
Seeing the E3 gameplay video for Gears of War and reenacting it around my house. Knights of the Old Republic Playing "Twisted System" on Fuzion Frenzy at 4 or 5 in the morning when everyone is all Halo'ed out. And for as long as I can remember, waking up before everyone else to play videogames.
Beating Super Mario World completely. Psycho Mantis in MGS Lots of Dreamcast moments, lots of fun with that console. Katamari for showing how simple it can really be.
SonicCD is the best sonic in the series in my view. I was excited as hell when I played it when I was a kid (every time)
Getting Link to the Past when it was first released, man that game brings back so many memories, haha wish I was 10 again.
First and foremost has to be sat on the edge of my seat vividly watching the opening FMV to the original Gran Turismo ... I'd been waiting ages for a copy and it completely blew me away at the time! Other notable mentions go to the old Road Blaster arcade, the 3 screen Ferrari Challenge monster and the stupid amounts of money that I pumped into Final Fight!
Ditto. I got it for my 10th birthday with a MegaCD and have a fond memory of getting up at 6 in the morning and completing the game before heading off to school. Some other great moments stand out to me:- System Shock 2....well just the whole game. The first time you see a mutant/ghost/Shodan etc, the game is filled with great moments. Silent Hill when Lisa realises she's a monster. Boy that was emotional at the time. Resident Evil 2 when the licker passes the window in the police station or the one way mirror in the interview room. Playing GTA3 without seeing a single screenshot or trailer and being blown away.
-Seeing the n64 in action for the first time -Booting up my Dreamcast for the first time (andoba, i got mine on the same day xD) -Play SOTC -COD2 first level -Ocarina of Time There is a third whistle??, lol,i had no idea :banghead:
Dunno, Sonic2 was incredible, and the exploration part of SonicCD (to get the badnick machine in the past) was a little cumbersome for me. I blame 2D for that, you just cant explore a world there like you do in 3D...
are you guys serious about the third whistle?? You just now found it? O_O you...didn't know about it...
I'd have to say that your picks mirror mine with the exception of the PS games. To that, I'd also like to add: Playing Star Raiders on my VCS 2600 with the touchpad controller and as crude as the setup was, felt like I was actually piloting my own Star Trek inspired starship. Also, facing the Red Dragon in Atari's ADVENTURE. The sound of the dragon attacks in that game terrified me.
