Best Sake ever!

Bunch of lightweights, not drinking real drinks like Sake or Scotch .

 

normally for me, whisky straight, a beer or red wine. for some social nihonshu (warm or cold) i like a swell.

 

If only I could afford a nice single malt more often.

 

I like cold sake and I have enjoyed scotch for a while...but tequila is my main drink.

 

I stick to w**d, alcohol gives me a stomach ache and it takes too much to get me dizzy.

 

Sticking to the ol' wood eh barc0de...

All of this talk about chu-hi is making me want to try it.
To bad it's not readily available to me.

 

You don't see people drinking Chu-hi in bars. It's a great day-time alcohol. Zima is just... uh.. .what the fuck, yeah? Although the grapefruit chi-hi stuff is pretty lame.

I'm w/ Alchy on the Single Malt. Expensive... and I've been drinking a few lately.

 

no, you got me lil'bit wrong, i rarelly drink chu-hi, but if i have to, then i go with grape or grapefruits flavored only :icon_bigg

unfortunately i don't like shochu, it's kinda strange bitter-taste i just can't become friend with:/

 

I'll drink most things but Shochu just makes me want to puke. It's rancid crap.

Yeah, and Japanese whiskey is nice and cheap too. You can get a nice bottle of Suntory for half of what you'd pay back in the UK for whiskey of equal quality.

When I go drinking this is how it goes.

Few Kirin beers (real bear not that Haposhu crap that leaves you with a banging head the next day). The on to the more fruity Chu-Hi drinks such as lime, lemon, grapefruit. Maybe another beer then on to a whiskey or cream based drink. Finally a nice black coffee to sort out my head a little before the next morning starts.

Hate to be pedantic, but it's whisky which is what proper whisky is, a good scotch. Whiskey with the e is what the americans call that fairly horrid bourbon stuff.

Being part scottish I know a good whisky when I taste one and some of the decent single malts coming from Hokkaido are as good as some of the fantastic Islay malts.

Still shochu is horrid, nearly as bad as a bad vodka.

 

Seriously? Any affordable imports? I'd be interested to try some.

 

Jack Daniels isn't bad. Other than that...

It's not meant to be had with a cigar on the rocks. You need a mixer. Good for bars. In a proper lounge though, I wouldn't dream of ordering it.

 

Good Lord this reminds me of a few years back when I was dating a girl who would drink Jack Daniels straight.. Just watching her made me sick. Oh and she weighed no more than 105 pounds so I have no clue how she did it.

 

I was a Jack and Coke man back in the day. Nowadays though I tend to stay away from the heavy stuff and mostly drink Lindemans Framboise Lambic. I love the stuff but it tends to bankrupt me whenever I drink it.

It's the tiny girls that can surprise you the most when it comes to drinking.
