Anyways, with all this talk about the upcoming Eternal Sonata, it has revived my interest in videogaming music. So whats everyones favorite video gaming music CD? Or is there a CD that really has to be heard even if you'll never touch the game?
My favourite five (ones I would save in case of a fire and in order) are Ace Driver - Victory Lap Alpine Racer Le Mans 24hr Daytona USA Ridge Racers Anyone spot the link?
Rez has some of the best music ever ina videogame. SonicCD had good songs, but they all sound too cheesy nowadays, like most 80s and early 90s songs do:lol:
Blast Wind is king IMO. After that: Panzer Dragoon Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Panzer Dragoon Saga Hyper Duel Radiant Silvergun Soukyuugurentai Final Fantasy 6 Blue Dragon Guardian Heroes Border Down NiGHTS
Final Fantasy Tactics is among my favorite. As are the Phoenix Wright games, Chrono Trigger, and Parappa the Rapper....and Shenmue...and Katamari Damacy...
Hmm, interesting. My picks would be: - Panzer Dragoon Saga - NiGHTS into Dreams - Radiant Silvergun - Wipeout 2097, Pulse, Pure, SE (in that order) - Dune (first game, the adventure)
In no particular order: The 7th Guest Outlaws Monkey Island Dune Spice Opera, as AntiPasta said just before, unless he was talking of the ingame Adlib-powered music wich I like too... Aliens vs Predator, the PC game Full Throttle Sam&Max Metal Slug, probably the 3 or the 4 Halflife/opposing force/whatever the name of the other add-on is... Deus Ex 1 Doom 1&2 Prisoner of Ice Alone in the Dark 1, 2, 3 Outcast Max Payne 1 The Nomad Soul, aka Omikron on the other side of the Atlantic A lot of C64 games soundtracks are great too, but I can't recall their names right now, as a matter of fact, I tend to use c64 tunes as ringtones, as well as the whole Doom 1 musical score, I'm nuts...
Well, actually, I was - Spice Opera would be great, too, if they only left the cheesy lyrics out
What makes the Panzer Saga soundtrack great is that the majority of it was generated on the fly by the Saturn sound hardware, with the exception of the four or five orchestral tracks. I also have great fondness for the Sonic Adventure music, which isn't as bad as you might remember it. As far as terrible games with great music, I remember Albert Odyssey on the Saturn was a mediocre RPG that I played through to the end just to hear all the music in context.
actraiser 1 for super nintendo thunder force 3 for genesis final fight cd for sega cd Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo for 3do panasonic michael j moon walker for genesis Killer Instinct 1 Killer Instinct 2
Shadow of the Colossus if you like full Orchestral works Actraiser Symphonic Suite Arc the Lad 1 and 2 (Best PSX music made ever, imho) I like a lot of Final Fantasy Concert songs and FFT has a cool OST Albert Odyssey (Another fave for Orchestral stuff) Metal Slug has a lot of cool tunes Almost every Wild Arms OST ever Also, there is a ton of cool Zelda OSTs out there. One of them has an OOT Ocarina Medley that is simply brilliant.
