I have created an MP3 of me farting around on guitar whilst trying out Garageband and I'd quite like to share it with the World (heaven help you all) so that it starts automatically rather than having to be fully downloaded. Any ideas on the easiest / best method of doing this given that its MP3.

    Thanks!

Id either upload it to a standard upload site like Megaupload, or through a picture onto it and upload it to Youtube as a picture with MP3 video hah

HA! Yeah, there's a thought. I was hoping for something a little less bulky as frankly I want to start putting together audio tracks as I still dream of producing the audio for a games title one day. Messing around and getting to know the software on the iMac. Wanted to gauge opinion. Thanks!

sites like purevolume.com and myspace.com are good for posting music and even having it downloadable for other people.

Yeah I was kind of trying to avoid things like MySpace as it was really not to make it 'public' so much as just sending people links etc. I'll have a long look at the ideas here.

At present I have about 5 tracks I was considering, but they are all older stuff (up to 15+ years old)

I'd say the Youtube or Myspace route is a good one. That way, they don't have any easy way of downloading your track (unless you want them to with Myspace). You can choose to make the profile private if you so wish, but that means your intended listeners must have an account, and TBH what's so bad about others saying hey cool music?

Come talk to me on MSN sometime, I'm sure I could give you some pointers.

When i build something like this i use Flash. Fast easy do, and you can make your own design using Action Script and PS. I like the Flash Player very much for the web.

You could also check out the audio section of Newgrounds.
