So, I have a few PS1 consoles and I was wondering what the BEST way to store them is. until now I've had them all over my room in stacks, one stack with 10 ones on the floor, and 4 inside my closet. one in the dust under my TV and 2 in boxes.

it's time to change it, what do I use? what is the best way to store them? in what? and where?

Stacking them is probably the best way to store more tan 3-4 of them

As long as you're storing them somewhere dry with low humidity and normal temperatures you should be just fine.

Seeing as humidity probably doesn't exist in Iceland you're probably gonna be ok.

You can use a bookshelf and place them sideways. I use a bookshelf to display my PS2's, it's great for showing off good condition models.

The best way would be in a temperature controlled dark area.

Storing them like books on a shelf with the back of the console pointing outwards is better, or just mount them on the wall.

Depends on what you're trying to achieve really.

I just stick them in one of my cupboards - luckily I happen to have one that's just the right size.

I would get large zip lock bags and place one console per bag and stack them, this will keep them dry and dust free. Also this will help prevent them being scratched from being stacked on top of each other :D

I disagree with this method. You're putting alot of weight of the lid switch this way. I did something similar with my DreamCast and it messed up the lid switch. Instead you should have the consoles vertical, so that the controller ports, side vents, or back of the console is pointing downward. It'll avoid that problem. Other than that your normal storage conditions are good, low humidity, light, room temperature.
