anyone feels the same excitement as I do?

I still play MW2(especially SpecOps) and now BF3 Beta online.

Pre- ordered both games as Limited Editions of course :)

I feel nothing at all. These real life war games are all the same crap. This is not what games are about IMO. IT's fine to have FPS based upon fantasy but real life war?

I'm really psyched about both titles as well, these titles'll will be one of the gaming highlights of 2011, if not the gaming highlights.

I support team BF3 but I have to say it makes me depressed. I'm tired of FPS so I don't play them anymore but man talk of BF3 around the office turns into talk of BF1942 and at my old job that was freaking fun as hell with 8+ of us in the office playing all lunch and after work sometimes. God that was great!!

What annoys me is people going 'OH BF3 IS GOING TO BE SO SHIT DID YOU PLAY THE DEMO?!!!'... It's a BETA not a demo!

I can see why some companies like to stay away from public beta testing. The twelve year olds who parents will buy it for them will be told not to as its so buggy. Old codebase = bound to be bugs.

    Stupid kids!

    I've played:

    Battlefield 1942
    Battlefield Vietnam
Desert Combat (mod for 1942 but basically BF2)
    Battlefield 2

    Call of Duty
    Call of Duty 2
    Call of Duty 3
    Call of Duty MW1
    Call of Duty MW2
Call of Duty World at War

So no, I'm not excited. The BF3 beta was more an alpha and the games are rehashed from the above list. Why do I want to replay 2003 all over again?

If this is a gaming highlight for you I'm going to guess your gaming library is rather small or you're younger than I am. If the latter, I'm envious as BF3 seemed old and boring to me.

It's easier to reply to your posts if you limit yourselves to one insult per post.

First of all, I've been playing BF and CoD since the beginning myself, BF1942 (with the mod SIlent Heroes) and CoD 2 have been the most played LAN games with my buddies, so I can't see why more BF goodness can be bad.

I never got into those FPSs. Too many kids, cheaters and whiners. My friends are always trying to convince me to play it, but everytime i try it, it's the same thing.

Whenever i play something online i'm looking for some fun and to relax. The only FPS i play is Kilzone 2 / 3. Fun, addicting and with good teamplay.

I'm looking forward to it for the single player campaign. Maybe a few LAN parties with friends.

I don't see a single insult in his post, unless you feel insulted at the idea of being younger than someone or having a smaller library of games than someone else...

Call Of Duty ended at 2 for me.
& The new Battlefield does nothing for me. These games are extremely boring & I don't see how they could be interesting to anybody.

GoH, I also want a FPS Drug Experience game. Or maybe a GTA where you can eat babies. Now that would be cool!

Eh, I'm kinda over baby eating. I had my fill while playing Viva Piñata.

Anyways, I was pretty hyped for BF3 but I want the PC version but lack the setup to play it.

I played maybe 10 minutes of the 360 beta and was pretty underwhelmed. I know I probably didn't give it nearly enough time but I was just like, ehhhhhhh...

I just want Skyrim and the next Fallout using the Skyrim engine. haha

I hate war game multiplayer. I'll be sticking to the story mode thanks, throughly enjoyed MW 1&2's story mode, never played a battle field game apart from the beta which was glitchy as all shit (How did they not see the floating gun glitch? It happens ALL the time.) couple that with a shitty experience due to how you play the goddamn beta (Load shitty origin and select play game, this brings up a WEB BROWSER window with a interface clunkier than a bike chain from the 50's )and overall its far shittier than it should be.

I don't like assumptions about my person based on what kind of taste I have in video games. I'm 25, not really interested in any other games that are being released this year (haven't really been interested in new games since 2001), and if that tells you something about me, then fine.

The first Modern Warfare story was good but Modern Warfare 2's story was a bit far fetched. I can understand why they did it for dramatic reasons but I felt it cost them some of the realism the first had.

I'm 25 next month and wasn't making any assumptions, just hypothesis postulation. The 12-20 crowd didn't get to play 1942 in its prime nor much of BF2. Seems they're all about MW1/2 and Black OPs. The assertion was a statistical probability and if those rub you the wrong way I'd strongly urge you to stay away from Sociology. They love their statistics...

It does, however, tell me that you've got different tastes in games and don't mind more of the same. Personally I got fed up after buying Euro Force and Armored Fury for $10 a pop only to find EA putting them in for free with a later patch. Services for punkbuster? In game ads with 2142? Windows 7 requisite for BF3?

Hahaha...maybe I'll bite with the 360. Is there mouse and keyboard support?

I'm not excited at all for CoD MW3. It's roughly the same game with little tweaks and new maps, new missions. While that can be expectd for a sequel ofcourse, I don't feel it's even half as creative as each of the many Mega Man sequels.

How many games do you need to make about "modern warfare"? Now I know it's a business but the games are just so uninspired for their cost. But then again millions will buy it. I'd rather buy a Mega Man 11, 12, 13, etc than Call of Duty sequel. As Yakumo said about the "real life" or I guess modern less fictional FPS, it's not that interesting.

I don't think there is anything terribly wrong with the games, but I played CoD 4, 5, 6, 7. They are all pretty much CoD 4 with tweaks and new maps. Some are nice tweaks but certainly don't justify a 60$ game. Particularly when many of them have expensive map pack DLC.

For Battlefield, I only seriously played BF1942 which I liked and picked up BF BC2 for $20 awhile ago and it's entertaining. While it may not be as popular as CoD, I would say it is a better game. CoD is quite standard fare FPS where as Battlefield seems more interesting and has a bit more going on. Or it could just be that I haven't played and bought the same Battlefield game 4 times.

I don't play on buying CoD MW3 or BF3 though.

If enough friends get it, ill probably buy BF3. I love playing with friends in a squad based shooter. but playing with randoms is mainly just infuriating.
