Probably that the physical display can show 16million colours but the graphics chip only supports 260000 colours
that's what i thought. well, 260000 isn't that bad. any emulated-by-the-gp2x wannabe console needs more than that? EDIT: UAE is now ported. Damn, the community is on fire and the system isn't even out yet. i need one so badly. :smt045
didn't wanted to start another thread just for this, so i decided to bump the last one. That screen is amazing, isn't it? This is no official picture. The camera is a bit grainy too, as you can see.
That picture doesn't give justice to the PSP screen either. You can't compare with that picture alone.
i doubt the screen is as good as the psp screen too, but it looks like it can be compared anyway. that's the most stupid place for a DC in. here's the commentaries
Looks pretty decent. I guess it still has its issues but what hardware doesn't at this stage? I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.
Looks like it will be a nice bit of kit. I may get one for the EMUs on the move. Don't really like the PSP or DS to be honest since I have games just as good on my phone but a protable EMU stations that doubles as a movie player would be very nice. Yakumo
HAHAH i love how they stick the psp laying down and not the other one... Clearly you can see the psp is better and the only way is to stick it in an akward angle. Also we never know what brightness they are using on the psp! Out of the 3 settings. Also in all the other 3 pics the GP had its DC pluged in. Does this allow for better brightness like the psp does but isnt being taken advantage of in the picture? Also look at the picture of it playing an episode of scrubs. While the file quality might be bad if you compare that picture to a picture of the psp playing a umd..
Indeed, http://www.gp32spain.com/imagenes/imagenes_gp2x/DSC08596.JPG Those pictures weren't taken to compare the psp screen with the gp2x one, they didn't placed the psp, or any other handheld, with a reason behind it. Those screens are coming from an internet website who also sell psps. I was sure someone would point this angle ''problem'' but it's not present on the first screen i posted. Also, on the other screens, There's also an angle on the gp2x, not as accentued though. The reason why the gp2x have its DC pluged in is because this test unit can't suport Batteries yet. And there's only, like on the Gp32 BLU, Two option for the screen: Backligthed or not. Like you said.. Look, i'm just saying the screen is looking good, when you compare it to the psp screen, i'm not saying that this one or this other is better. I don't have the handheld yet, so i can't tell.
Neo Geo CD! (WAY) bigger Picture: http://gp2mania.com/bbs/data/screenshot/gp2x_1018_00.jpg The Emulator isn't optimised yet. Videos: http://www.gp32spain.com/imagenes/imagenes_gp2x/gp2x_neocd_metalslug.wmv http://www.gp32spain.com/imagenes/imagenes_gp2x/gp2x_neocd_AeroFighter2.wmv Someone also said he was working on a MVS emulator. That's what i call great news, especially when you consider that the console isn't even out yet.
it's not coming out in the US in the sense that it won't be in stores, officially. But it will be in the US in the sense that some american Websites will sell the unit. The first batch is suposed to arrive in the beginning of November, but you need to reserve it, 'cause it's a limited release. The second one is scheduled for December. I think i'll pick one for christmas with a 1gb card. Nice PEP at the same time, you know, Mp3s ( i don't have a mp3 player yet.), Videos (no need to change them in a weird format, or change the resolution), games, emus,... and the best thing is that you can plug it in your tv. Perfect for me.
yea.....im thinking of reserving mine for the second batch....i dont have high hopes for quality in first runs....things lookin good...the pocket pc is able to emulate a playstation, do you think we will see an emu for the gp2x, they had quake on the gp32 afterall...
you mean psx emu on gp2x? we'll see that, GPH is already working on it on their side, and i'm sure the commnunity will try to make psx games running on this thing. But will it run correctly?Mmm.. It could, if the Second Core is as good as they say. The guy that wanted to make a psx emulator switched is project to the gp2x, for lots of reasons, so i'm pretty sure he believes it have the power to do a good, if not a great, job. Will it really do the job? It's too earlier to tell.
PSX emulator for GP2X is possible, but ... playable?, we have to wait ... For GP32 there is a very early PSX emulator that you can play Ridge Racer veryyyy slowwww , well, only tested on a GP32 emulator that runs at 40- 44 mhz (GP32 works on 133 - 166 mhz).
