Biohazard 1.5 I've been sitting on a lead or two for this for a while, one in Japan, one in the USA. Something popped up and thought I had it all set and done to get this. I even had the money withdrawn and was waiting on the final "go". It seems the owner was a twit and sold the game for a tiny sum ($300) to the first person who offered. Needless to say I am out about $100 on a certified bank check and am quite angry. I won't name names, but their reputation is now dirt. It seems it has surfaced with another person, and perhaps might see release, perhaps not. Basically biohazard 1.5 is no longer within my grasp and I expect it to either disappear forever or be released. -ASSEMbler
oh, damn...i would love to see a release of this. $300, that's just freaking crazy...nothing compared to the real value. so let's hope the new owner is a nice person and is going to dump it.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....:crying: Thanks for the efforts Kev, I can't believe that game would go only for $300, did the seller even knew what he had?
Arggghh... Well as everyone else said the effort truly is appreciated. I just wish you didn't have to come up empty handed... The holy grail...and for a measly 300.!
PlayStation Museum has some stuff about it: http://www.playstationmuseum.com/Support/ http://www.playstationmuseum.com/Games/BETA/BTA-076.htm
Well perhaps for a sum he could direct you to the buyer... Then perhaps the buyer would be willing to make a deal? This unreleased game for me is even more important then our efforts for sonic xtreme as were talking about a game that has 50% + completed.. Something that diehard RE fans could hack to bits and make playable !!! The awesome and legendaery biohazzard 1.5! But, you did try kev and believe me we all love you for it, hell bringing us sonic xtreme alone made us greatful.
You've got to be a real idiot to sell Biohazard 1.5 for a measly $300..jeez. What system was it? It was 'done' on both the Saturn and the playstation, right?
is there any connection between this and the other thread ? http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15863 If you all get my drift . To all moderaters, please edit my post. If it is a nono.
I agree with karsrten. If someone's got a dirt reputation, I want to know so I don't deal with them. It's just like feedback. But that's just my opinion.
I have been waiting on the day that this games sees public release. I still have my RE2 guide I bought that had info and concept art from the 1.5 version. While you may not have gotten it we still appricate the effor Assembler =) Heres hoping the new owner will see the light and share this great piece of VideoGame history with us and the world.
i'd really like to know what could posess someone to do this. could it even be possible to have acquired re1.5 and not know what it's worth? is someone so desperate to screw assembler out of a game that they'll shoot themselves in the foot to accomplish it? is this the result of politics? some kind of blood vendetta? three hundred fucking dollars. the mind reels.
Programmers live lives that pretty much shun the gamer culture. If you examine the famous ones, they don't even play games. Miyamoto probably has less hands on non testing /dev game experience than a ten year old. Some seek to avoid it to prevent "taint" of other's visions and prevent creating something too similar. In this case, $300 for something sitting in a closet seemed good, and he could care less and jumped on the first offer. What can you do? He won't answer e-mails or IMS.
I disagree with that notion. Guys like Miyamoto, Aunoma, Kojima, etc don't actively play games, not because they shun the gaming culture, but because they cannot relate to it. It was never a factor in their pre-career lives, so being founding fathers of modern gaming meant that the passion of playing others games never became a part of them (because in their pre-career lives, it wasn't a large form of entertainment). With so many years of associating game creating as a strict work related task its hard to transform this into something you want to do with your spare time. Similar to how a accountant won't do math in his spare time. This indeed is shown to the extreme by the legendary Nolan Bushwell who recently has gone out and basically said that modern gaming as a whole is rubbish (link). Jeff Minter has also recently said similar things. However, when you look at the "new generation" of young game developers indeed this has changed. These guys sought the video game industry as a direct path where the industry often was appealing because of their love of the medium, (unlike miyamoto going to college for industrial design). For instance Suda 51 loves Rockstar games. Of course its hard to narrow all of these newbies down because of the large development teams these days.
Miyamoto's work is pretty damn amazing considering he's never been into gaming. However, his approach as an objective outsider that observes players has worked amazingly well in his game designs.
After seeing that other thread about this Playstation museum, I imagine it was real and someone's got their hands on it. Hopefully it will be released or leaked. Such a shame if it slips away into the shadows forever.
