Guess most of us would do that. To me personally, it's like the holy grale among the unreleased/prototype games.
The problem with pieces is that lets say they knew they were showing Police Station + Lab areas in video clips so those would be the areas they'd focus on pushing out the door, heck the final storyline design/cutscenes might not have even been started. Of course I'd love to see this as much as anyone else (and is one of the reasons I followed betas to begin with) and optimisim is great but not having the ending portion or half the game areas avaliable plus items and puzzle not functioning properly are all quite likely. Also yes percentages can only work when you're dealing with something post-humourly or with a set amount but its easier to understand something (in my opinion) if it's described as 65% complete then kind of complete.
The thing about percentages is this: We don't know what part of development they were in. Alpha stage? Beta/Debug stage? If it is available, I have a hard time thinking it would be nothing more then a demo or a unfinished magazine preview copy.
While there's no doubt many of you first got into the prototype/unreleased scene because of Resident Evil 1.5, what many don't realise is that Capcom was also in the early stages of a Saturn version that would have featured a totally different scenario linked to the more commonly-known PlayStation edition. I've heard figures of 15% completion and rumours this approach was only adopted due to Sega's platform being unable to handle Biohazard 2 in its "full" form (as if Capcom hadn't already cleared any hardware issues with their extensive use of the console's 4Mb RAM upgrade cartridge - assuming it was Capcom and not a third party "ghost" developer that was in charge of the project, that is), but it's all just speculation that has been lost as most of the focus seems to be on its Sony-headed counterpart. One minor detail I seem to recall hearing about was the inclusion of a young male photographer in the lead male role, which may have been very likely when you consider how much Capcom loves to recycle its old leftover ideas and that a figure of that very description was later resurrected in the Outbreak spin-offs. Anyway, that's just my proverbial two cents on a quite obscure aspect of this infamous game's long and complicated history...
You might be speaking of Biohazard DASH, which was a planned game for Saturn where you explore the mansions remains and find new areas underneath the rubble to explore. They eventually cut this idea out, and formed the gameplay into the Battle Mode that is in the Saturn RE1 release.
Resident Evil Dash (or "RED" for short) was indeed the working title for the Saturn conversion, but sadly only the Battle Mode remains from this ambitious expanded edition. However, I'm definitely not getting confused with plans for the sequel - I've heard rumours of Biohazard 2 in its Saturn form being different from its PlayStation counterpart one too many times for it to be a co-incidence, though it doesn't really mean a lot when the game didn't get very far into development anyway. On the subject of Biohazard 2, does anybody remember the Saturn logo appearing at the very end of an early commercial for the final build? I'm fairly certain this was left in by accident, as Capcom has stated in the past that work on a Saturn edition was abandoned following the cancellation of what is known today by fans as the "1.5" version. Then again, who's to say what Capcom - or some other team - had planned for us behind closed doors?
im not just saying i would love to see this game come to light just to get another post but i am probably one of the most obsessive resident evil fans ( up until part 4 that is ) this game has been in my dreams so many times , if this where to ever get leaked , i will personaly let the person that leaked it do my girlfriend.
A little late reply, but if this is the trailer I think it is, then the Saturn logo is there most likely 'cause the "RE2 trailer" is cut out from a tape containing a long sequence of trailers, and right before it there should be trailers for (amongst others) various Capcom fighters that were multiplatform.
Now we're talking! we ll need proof that she's hot first  I don't think anyone owning the game would A) let go of it B) leak it The only chance is if the person(s) who currently have it want to sell, and in the process they make a private copy..in which case, releasing it after the transaction would not make them lose their money's worth. Bad news for the new owner though ;-)
Whoever wants to sell it and do such a scam, is probably not interested in video games/protos anymore to start with. If you own RE 1.5 , there isn't much else on top of that you can own, software wise. So, even if someone does this, he will be worshipped by many and hated by a few. No detriment to the scammer since he's not into buying/selling stuff anymore ;p That's what I d call "pulling out (of a hobby) with a bang"
