That black one does look sweet. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see more pics. Is it just me or are there a lot of M2 dev systems showing up these days? Did someone find a warehouse of them or something? Assembler???
I don't think that many are really popping up...but keep in mind that this is Assembler, and a lot of people here own them. I imagine zappenduster's black one belonged to sflynn...the guy who found one in a freaking flea market....
I have to start going to more flea markets, if NC flea markets carry stuff like the black M2. I agree with Johnny, the black one is a nice looking machine.
Join the club. lol! So far my attempts have turned up nothing like that. I do find plenty of Super Mario/Duck Hunt NES carts for some reason though.
awww how quite, later that day, they went off to get married and came home with a new baby......they named it "ArmyMen" and things from there are history
the black one just came in yesterday evening i did a short photosession with our 2 beautys and then did head off to work so no testing next thing is i have to get a 110/220 V converter if i dont plan on burning the unit with 220V =) @assembler that would be great if you could take some pictures @Jaysmith2000 regarding the popping up someone bought a huge lot of stuff from the interplay auction within that there was a whole load of m2s from ebay watching i would say 10 devsystems at least of which at least 3 got resold later again then 2 prototypes came up one is now owned by rpa which was sold from a 3do collector or maybe former employer and the other one was the mysterious "fleamarket" find by ssflynn (which is the black one in the pictures)
The back 1 isn't a prototype - it's a media player just like the FZ-35. The white prototype was circa 1996 when Panasonic was still going for game development, later that year they abadoned console development and regurgitated the technology for the media players. That black 1 was circa 1998 - long after any games console plans had been abandoned, it's actually a production media player - just a crippled version of the FZ-35 (there were 2 models available, the FZ-21 was the other). I guess the reason the FZ-35 is a gazillion times more common is because dealerships who was using the m2's for displays wanted the top of the range model with all the bells & whistles and easier mounting.
Are you saying the black M2's cant play games? It has everything it needs to so I dont see why it wouldn't? Unless the BIOS was the limiting factor?
chipset is nearly the same with the prototype ones with some minor differences off course so the bios / firmware should be the border to breach =)
Lol I was thinking.. OMG... the game Black & White ... did the development started so early and for the M2 .. but you were refering to the colors hehe
