Debug unit arrived today...first thing of note - it DOES have 128mb RAM! woohoo! Nothing on the HDD really, seems a clean XDK install, however, it did have some stickers on bottom: REMOVED On second thought, what people dont know won't hurt me. fun fun.
So, how drunk would you have to be to call one of those numbers and ask for support for your "new" Xbox?
Hmm, so the Xbox for some reason wants to only run in black and white. This is on an NTSC HDTV and the xbox is also NTSC. The cable that came with it look like some 3rd party deal. Has SVIDEO, RCA, and Component all on one cable with a switch. Tried all, and all show in B&W. Are debug units picky on cables or is my debug 1/2 broken?
I have had that happen twice with an Xbox. First time was when I had a debug running in PAL mode while hooked up to an NTSC display. Second time was after a (really, unbelievably) bad flash right before it died. I would check your region settings to make sure that it is actually set for NTSC.
I have 5 Xbox Debug units. 3 are green and two are black. I'd like to get rid of them. I can't guarantee that they are fully functional but they do power up and show the initial xbox animated logo. If you remove a drive you get the drive error... These were opened units and used to test hardware for compatibility. I picked them up for $100 each to mod for gaming systems and quickly learned that they don't play well with mod chips. I'd like to get my money back out of them.
