As promised.. A few pics of my PAL MegaCD collection - having spent all day de/re-bagging and taking photos - please enjoy.. ;-)

The following photo's show almost everything on the www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk game list, except for the GDG unofficial release of 'Star Strike', and 4 demos/promos.. Always on the lookout.. :)

    32X CD titles:

Cover and language variations - Battle Frenzy the German re-titled version of Bloodshot, the German rear-covered versions of Battlecorps & Soulstar, German release of Paws of Fury (sans 'Brutal' in title), non-BBFC Euro version of Dracula Unleashed, and German/English/French manual smallbox Microcosms:

More cover and language variations. French/German/Spanish dubs of Tomcat Alley. Also, French dub of Night Trap & Fahrenheit:

Cover and language variations of Jurassic Park. French (Sealed), German, and Spanish audio dubs which also have translated text on the front & rear inlays, and finally the Australian English cover/artwork variation:

'Big Box' set, including multilanguage 'plain covered' releases, English only 'Blue-Stripe' releases, and BBFC and non-BBFC CD pressing of Sewer Shark:

The Lethal Enforcers 'Player 1 Blue Gun' Set. I also have the box to the Player 2 Pink gun, but sadly have not found the actual pink gun in good enough condition worth grabbing yet:

Some magazine cover CD demos and promos - not quite all that are known to exist, but getting there:

The Mean Machines magazine tin/card set:

Multi-region game adaptors.. the Datel Electronics ProCDX mkI, the CD+ Plus F-025 Universal, and the Datel Electronics ProCDX mkII:

A few odd&ends - An official Sega MegaCD Discase Binder/Wallet, the Flux 'Audio Accesory Cartridge' (sealed), and the Mean Machines magazine VHS promo video:

Here's a group shot of most (but not all) of my standard small box sealed ones that have spine cards. I've not included the few 'euro style' sealed ones I've got, which are in a rigid blister packaging designed to hang on a shop rail. The few big box sealed ones I have can be seen above, and they aren't worth shooting seperately as they don't have spine cards.. ;-)

    ---- Added 28th April 2007 ----

A few more sealed (with spines) PAL acquired of late: Yumeni Mystery Mansion, French & English Jurassic Park, INXS Make My Video, Soulstar English, and Eternal Champions. Please excuse the fact that the photo was taken with them in baggies, but I couldn't be bothered de-bagging them.. :110: :

    ---- Added 6th March 2007 ----

Heres some very quick 'just got this lot home' snapshots (sorry for the pants image quality) of some more stuff, including the beginnings of my US NTSC collection. I'm only collecting US NTSC games that AREN'T otherwise available in either Jap NTSC or Euro PAL.

Some factory sealed US NTSC titles:

10 unofficial NTSC format Good Deal Games releases, all brand new:

And finally, oh yeah baby.. :katamari: ..It's a SEALED copy of PAL format Bug Blasters to add to the main collection. www.sega-mega-cd-library quotes that there are only 5 copies in existence, and I have confirmed that these were released in "extremely limited quantities", which is nice.. lol:

    ---- Added 26th March 2007 ----

Here's the small start of my Jap MCD collection. I'm only collecting titles that AREN'T otherwise available in Europe in PAL (apart from when I spot a bargain) As most are quite common, I'm trying hard to grab only sealed examples. All the games below are factory sealed:

    ---- Added 5th May 2007 ----

A few more sealed NTSC US games, plus a pack-in CDG/demo from a US SegaCD :

A few more sealed NTSC JAP games :

As always, I will add more as I get it/find it..

    Thanks for looking!
    Simon.

    Awesome collection .

Got one question, what do you think of Eternal Champions for MegaCD?

I've got the MD version (I got it with the system almost 10 years ago), and really liked its fighters and stages, but I've always find it very difficult for me. I'd like to get the MegaCD version, but perhaps it's not worth the money if you have the MD one.

Now that's a nice collection ! Isn't it funny that PAL Mega CD games have spine cards yet normal British CDs or other games never did. I also find it funny the way the PAL games use the Japanese style Mega CD logo then change for the western version.

The MM tin is a nice thing to have, unfortunately mine is quite tarnished.. :-( The cards themselves are mint tho, which is nice.

As for the demos/promos, I'm missing the Soulstar and Thunderhawk 'Paragon Publishing' magazine demos CD's, and there's also three 'trade only' promos of Beast II, Microcosm, and Thunderhawk known to exist, which I don't have yet.. ;-)

It's been a fun journey so far tho..

I LOVE the picture with all the sealed games, it definitely looks sexy with all those spine cards
Btw, are you looking for european magasines dedicated to the mega-cd ? I know about a couple of them that were released in France so I assume there might be in countries all over the union.

Hehehe.. They do look purdy don't they? I realised I missed a couple out of that pic, but no biggy - I'll just save them for the next group picture I take when I've got a few more..

Although I have a fair few, I've never really actively searched for MegaCD magazines - just the demos/freebies from them. I've had to limit my direction for collecting - I'd have never got this far without prioritising. Having said that, I guess I'm gonna have to start on the mags/publications sometime, so if you got any info or leads, it would be appreciated.. Please PM me.. :icon_bigg

    Best,
    Simon.

Do you know if Flink has had a spine-card? If you don't, I wouldn't know where else to ask (mega-cd-library has no confirmation as well). ;)

ps: Great collection of course, I always like to see people who collect PAL Mega CD-games complete with Spine-cards or even sealed. They're quite hard to get these days. As I can see, you seem to have a nearly complete collection. Do you think about buying the holy grail, Batman & Robin, sealed or at least with spine? To be honest, I just saw 2 auctions of it, one sealed (1200EUR buy now) and one not sealed and without spine (250EUR buy now)...

I seem to recall an Ebay auction for a sealed Flink a couple of years ago, and I'm 75% certain it had a spine card. The non-UK seller didn't reply to my emails back then, and I've not seen one since, so I don't know for sure.

Yes, just the two unofficial GDG releases, and the Spanish translation of Jurassic Park, then it's a full set..

I did have a chat with the seller of the sealed copy of Batman & Robin. It was beautiful to see it, but the asking price of £900 was far too steep - even for that title.

I'm always on the lookout for sealed titles that I don't have. I'm not afraid of spending money, but I do have my 'sensible hat' on most of the time, which stops me doing silly things.. :katamari:

Glad you like my pics and thanks for the comments,
    Simon.

Very impressed, the Mega CD has always held a special place in me heart. It was the first console (or I suppose add-on) I played on the day of its UK release, I'll never forget the first time my uncle (who brought it) first connected it to our MD and started the game. WE WERE PLAYING ON CD!!!!

I have the Mean Machines tin card set somewhere, my memory might be failing me but wearnt there more cards in this set? For some reason I can picture a Sonic CD one....

It certainly was a funky thing to play back in the day - that's why I collect I guess - childhood(ish) memories..

Hmmm.. I've never seen a SonicCD one. To my knowledge, that was the complete set of cards - some of which came with the tin, and the rest were printed with subsequent issues of the mag. I might be wrong tho, in which case it's just another thing to keep an eye out for...

Hey simon, I've always been wondering: do you collect any other videogame related stuff ?
Or do you only have a couple of "games to play" on other systems ?

Btw, your pics made me feel so envious ! When I get my final pal master system games (still need 4 for the "basic" complete set), I'll start buying mcd games (already have samsho and ffs, but I think it is still gonna cost me helluva lot of money lol)

@ Cyber : The MCD collection hasn't taken too long to gather, but yes, it's cost a fair bit of money to get the rarer stuff. :-/ Do you have pics of your collections?

I do have a fair number of random 32X and MegaDrive games, but I've really only been focussing on the MCD collection so far. I've always had a few other consoles hanging around - Atari 2600, Sega Master System, Amstrad GX4000 and XBox spring to mind, but I've never had what you could call a 'collection' of games for those platforms.

I've got the usual suspects in the Sega hardware collection: A couple of mint boxed MegaDrive1's with and without AUX ports and different pack-ins, Brand New Master System Convertor, Brand New 32x, Brand New MegaDrive2, Near Mint complete boxed MegaCD1, and a whole bunch of other new/minty stuff like random controllers, arcade sticks, 3D glasses etc.

I've just started collecting sealed US-NTSC SegaCD games - I'm aiming for just those that _weren't_ released in any other region. As far as I can make out, there's about 50 to get, and I've got 30-odd already. They seem quite easy to come by, and for the most part quite cheap.

Last on the hit-list will be Jap-NTSC MCD. Again, I'll probably just go for titles that weren't released in any other region. My goal, as you've probably worked out, is to have every Sega/MegaCD game ever released in one region or another.

"As I can see, you seem to have a nearly complete collection."
Who said the complete collection wont extend during next months? ;)

Btw, I bought ThemePark PAL for megacd some months ago, and the postman lost it... Should I be furious :D?
Nice to see you got syndicate too :)

Indeed.. There's always the chance of finding something new, or another unofficial title being released. I'm still convinced there are more language translations and cover variations out there than is generally known, so I'm always keeping an eye out.. ;-)

I think I was lucky with finding most of the titles - the only ones that gave me particular trouble were the ones you would expect.. The Smurfs, Syndicate, Batman & Robin, and especially Fatal Fury Special.

I'm desperate to find that Spanish Jurassic Park, and I don't suppose I'll ever come across a PAL Star Strike - but then, I said that about Bug Blasters, so...

And I feel your pain with the postal services.. :banghead: If it's not the postman 'losing' the packages, it's sellers not knowing how to protect and wrap valuable items properly.. It really annoys me..

It really is an addiction, as you know... :love2:
