Recently the Dreamcast community has been on fire, especially in the online department. Many great acomplishments have been made, we're looking at you DreamPi and DCSERV.org! Because of this we release this pre-release version of Bomberman Online, hoping it might help revitalisate the online portion of this stellar game.

Seeing this is for researching purposes the GDI is being shared, perhaps the dummy files within the data hold some hidden treasures.

Because you apparently have a problem staying on topic after being talked to. You've been warned how many times? If you want to talk about what "should" be done with prototypes, make a thread.

Bomberman is one of my all time favorites. Never had the opportunity to play this version online, so I really hope that this one gets it's online functions back! Big up @bananabreak for bringing us this awesome release :)

update; in this build ALL character designs (head, eyes, body, legs) are unlocked by default!

Thank you for the credit - its been alot of hard work, lack of motivation, but mostly hard work lately and we're (as in we accounting for Shuouma) pretty close to full KAGE-emulation - which actually works, but unknown what games is using the exact same setup as Alien Front Online which is just around the corner for the first open testing phase before the actual release. As said on the DC Wiki, there will be an open-source license, shipped with game servers for Alien Front Online to begin with, while other titles are being investigated aswell as bugs corrected, everything being logged and more importantly, first hosted only at one place for multiple reasons, but mostly to get bugfixes out as soon as possible.
I would like to give a big shoutout to all of the donations, and as of lately, Jonas aka Shuouma at DC-Talk has been helping me out figuring out bugs by testing it up against the final release of the game which differs alot from the pre-release build (like endianness for example) as the first build I sent him was an early one which was targeted at the Solaris platform. Either way, his contributions and our dialog lately have helped alot and I feel he will speed up things considerably since finding bugs with a now incomplete setup for dial-up connections make things alot harder to find, while easier for him with a Katana DevKit.

The target OS was originally going to be SunOS/Solaris for this first release after the *OPEN* testing phase but thinking most people dont have that OS running (legally atleast), defines in all sources are added so target OS is now both Linux aswell as Unix. Kage emulation means basically that we could host a variety of games given that they used the same system (which is confirmed actually is the case), at the same place. The servers are far from COMPLETE, but will atleast in the nearest future revive said title, which is special in the sense that it is one of the most anticipated games to be revived, and naturally especially after giving the news at dcserv.org that work is being done for it, for well over a year ago.

With that said, BMO is also a highly anticipated title which also supports the BBA and has options to change the host to connect to, which should make it easier to implement given they used a similar setup. If it does not, I am determined to start development for that title aswell. Another one is Outtrigger, which actually gets some work done whenever I have the time for it, so there is alot going on at the online Dreamcast scene for sure.
