(punctuation added) Before posting, why not check the game's title screen? Or Wikipedia at least? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonk's_Adventure More: http://hudsonent.com/feature.php?f=The_Definitive_Bonk&feature_id=%99%A6%AB%A3
Did anyone ever play the Gamecube Bonk? Can't say I'm a big fan of redoing 2D games in not-very-good 3D (see also: Monkey Island, Turtles in Time). Why can't companies just redo games in hi-res 2D?
It's like razor blades, they obviously think more "D" is better. :banghead: If someone could figure out a way to make 4-D or 5-D games they'd have flocked to it like sheep.
I wouldn't be suprised if Backbone is developing the remake, as well as the new Bomberman, for Hudson.
Bonk: Brink of Extinction is a WiiWare/PSN/Xbox Live Arcade 2.5D action platformer with online co-op (!) and eight different transformations The whole 8 transformations.. has me a bit worried... While i'm Really glad that a new Bonk game in being made... and the graphics are not completely horrible (i would have also preferred a HD 2D visual style instead)... Hopefully the gamplay will remain the same (or simial) to past games... ?
I thought that image actually looked pretty cool. Then again, I've never played the original Bonk series.
right, and bonk was released on PS Engine or in the states so called PS Graphx-16. btw. Bonk is called PS Genjin in japan.
don't you mean PC Genjin? I m almost certain Sony Imagesoft had some involvement in the GameBoy versions of Bonk..or was is Chuck Rock?? I always get my cavemen confused!
I don't think it looks too bad either, from an objective point of view. But anyone who has fought himself through the lovely 2D graphics of the original won't be able to stand those heartless detail-lacking polygons untill the end.
