Wow, that's quality ! Where are they shipped from? Come on tachi' get some screen shots up and your views on the games. may pick one of these beauties up myself Yakumo
I got it from GBAX in Newcastle Upon Tyne, so 300 miles, so say 5 and a half hours drive from me. Pretty damn good delivery, and was only £4.95 or something. For more info (until I get something written up) try here: http://www.bripro.com/low/gameking/index.php By far the best site on the GameKing I have seen, and the guy even built a TV out type device for "real" screenshots. Clever bloke! I have to say, "Street Hero" (Streets of Rage Clone) is awesome, and bloody hard!
LOL, by "ridiculous" I meant ridiculously CHEAP. I've been seeing sealed SNES minis for like $200 Buy-it-Now, and if you check the "completed auctions" thing regularly, some of them ACTUALLY SELL at that price. So yes, I am going to ask these people what they have. I think I'll also be forced to buy one of each piece of Megadrive-related hardware that they've got too :-D EDIT: And I will most certainly have to order a Gameking now....I mean I've already got a Supervision, they can sit side-by-side.
Tachikoma, something I've been meaning to ask. Does your copy of Happy Ball has the A and B controls reversed - as in, the left button makes a hole on the right of the character?
Yeah it does, have to say though, it is my favourite GameKing game so far! I'm really glad I took the plunge and bought it, it is a fine piece of kit. If there was an emulator available, I would even look at having a go at some homebrew coding for it.
It is, isn't it? The music is great, and it's a pretty cool Lode Runner clone. I really like Trojan, too. Well, if someone would give me a dump, i would have a go at a emu. If not, I'm going to try and dump my 4-in-1 cart and see what I can do. Just need to cannibalize a cart connector first, I have all the hardware ready.
http://www.lofi-gaming.org.uk/articles/gameking.php Has some more Gameking fun, prticularly the origins of the artworks :smt043 Common Gameking buyers, more impressions pls seems too rad to turn down. :drinkers:
I did some videos of the gameplay in the GK2 with my Eyetoy camera a while ago. I sucked in it, because I was unable to control it while filming the screen, but it gives an idea of the quality. http://www.blindado-massive.net/pixeis/GK/
As it's £9.99 for the console and £12.99 for 13 games, that should be reason enough to buy it (you can get it cheaper from the HK importers, but will probably cost more in the long run with postage and import fee's) :smt030 Come on, let's start a mini GameKing cult! :smt042
gbax.com is located in the UK, does anyone know of a place that sells gamekings inside the US? I've emailed them asking if they sell overseas but I'm getting no response.
Ok, I found US buyers can get a Gameking from Success HK http://www.success-hk.com/pp/success.asp It's hidden though, go to the "classics" section and it's at the bottom.
for those near the san francisco area, there's a store on mission st @23rd (not the EBGames, but the weird toy store down the block from it) has the Game King for $15, with a 4-game cart included. box and unit are slightly different from what has been posted here, but the games are definitely the same quality.. the impression i got from playing it, was that the games were tamagotchi-style minigames (or game/watches as kyuusaku mentioned) ported to a slightly larger screen.. the quality is simply too good to be pirate original material. (thats not to say that the games are good quality, just too good for what they are). I'ma go down and buy one this weekend, so more pics comin.
abionic mate, you may just be the #1 importer of GameKing if that place has plenty of games for sale. And im intersted in the 4in1 cart, do they mean a cart on top of the 3 games built into the unit?
