This the one from ebay recently? Edit, yeah it is. That was a shady ending to that auction, but whatever works I guess.
I had made an offer in the early hours of the auction, long before it was pulled. The Xbox itself is legitimately broken, and Im actually not sure why, so its not like he lied to people. He offered it to me, I bought it, easier than relisting for him.
The strangest part of the whole auction was that it wasnt completely removed in the first day by Microsoft. Other people probably would have missed it, but the dashboard on this Xbox is an internal dash, which is almost as exciting as Halo for me. Sadly I could have seen someone backing up Halo, and upgrading it to the newest dash without ever checking
Or most likely not doing a thing with it, and upgrading it as a media centre and chopping up the case. The positive out of all of this, is that you got it, which is someone who shares information and shows interesting stuff. Just glad it didn't go to some private boring collector who likes the scent of their own anus.
No worries. I'm glad it went to someone that can document the files and share it with everyone. I was just disappointed that I didn't get a better shot at it. It occurs to me that I need to get off my lovely smelling anus and take some pictures of my collection. Haha.
All you would have done is cost me (or yourself hah) a lot of money. I had a high max bid ready to go if I had to
Yeah its an oddity. I was expecting the caps to be leaking all over the place, but the board is clean. The harddrive works. The DVD drive isn't the issue. So that leaves the power supply to test, along with a more indepth look at the motherboard.
Woo! Although I would have liked to see the whole blanket and not just that part, also there is a controller in the way.
So this is an Xbox that I picked up a few weeks back. Not entirely sure how long at this point, Im sure @MoonTar remembers hah. It's one of the oddities in the DVT4 world, in that it has a standard Silver bezel. If you look close at the top, the plastic also seems to be a bit clearer than some other units Ive had. Now you might be saying that someone just replaced it. In the past, on these very forums, you would likely find a few people, myself included, that would say the same thing. But at this point, Im fairly confident, or as confident as you can be with this sort of thing, that Microsoft had simply stopped using them. Having had enough development tools and reviewing my information, plus this Xbox came with the box, I can be fairly certain that it is all original. No prototype stickers here! I'm sure you'll want to know why. This DVT4 is one of the latest Xbox's I've ever found, and I think the latest development tool I have seen. This could be one of the last kits ever fully assembled, really something to think about! Check out this date!
Maybe it was placed in a public area with the whole unit masked off and just the DVD tray exposed. Then again, they could've used a debug kit in a black case.
