Hey guys, I don't know if you've already seen this or not: http://www.funtechtalk.com/boy-nearly-killed-trying-to-cool-xbox-360/ A boy was nearly killed trying to cool off his 360's psu by soaking it in water... (Only in NC....)
Seriously, how fucking stupid can a teenager (14 years old) get? I say this because fortunately he's still alive, but I wouldn't have if he died, out of respect.
I thought the same thing. I'm from NC and i can't say that everyone here knows about electricity, but most know that water+electricity doesn't mix.
What a dumbass. I mean, seriously. Though it maybe could work if done right....like water cooling. I'd try ziplock bags of ice and tape, and a few layers of rubber gloves on. IF I wanted to use water stuff. I'd probably just locate a fan or two.
I see the article was produced with a suitably somber graphic lol - as if we didn't know what an electric shock might look like. Perhaps it was a graphical representation used in the local newspaper ;-) But seriously, what the hell are they teaching kids at school these days? He's lucky to be still alive, very lucky! I just struggle to understand why he thought it was a good idea.
Hey, Parris you might want to take a look at this: http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/curriculum/ncscos :icon_bigg It's been a while, but i could have swore that they taught common sense 101, but like I said it's been a while. -Gamerfreak1727
As it's in the US maybe they can sue Microsoft for (1) not having a moron warning sticker on the powersupply not to mix with water (2) for making a buggy overheating console that needed some kind of extra cooling Makes me think of that Woman suing the microwave company as she tried to dry her dog in it but killed the dog instead and there was not warning about it .............
Just goes to show that Nintendo made the right move when they packed in those photo warnings of what not to do with your Wii. You don't see people dropping Nintendo PSU's in water while they’re live now do you? And to think that all of you made fun of them for doing that. For shame. Unfortunately no since nowadays people feel that even the dumbest out there need to be saved from themselves and allowed to breed.
A.Snow i was actually discussing the very same point with a friend the other day. Dumb people are a thousand step backwards in our evolutionary process.
I thought only Tom & Jerry shows had to teach you that. But seriously, they do. The kid just wasn't thinking.
I'm inclined to agree with you. How stupid does someone have to be to dip an electrical device in water to "cool it off"? I remember seeing a few funny stories on Xbox-scene, one of them involving someone ramming a soldering iron in their nose. That was a dumb slip-up, whereas this kid should not be allowed near anything with an "on" switch. I wasn't born in NC (actually from South Carolina), so I'm exempt :110:
