I am kinda interested in getting the Virtua Cop Elite Edition for the PS2 but it's only for the PAL market :( Isthere an easy way to play PAL games on an American PS2? If not, what are the ways I can do it? Any info. would be appreciated!

Do you have a slim model? if so, then you can install a magic switch, which blocks the lid sensors, and use swap magic. However your TV will need to support 50Hz - most US TV's don't. If you can play through a TV card then using the right software you often can play different frequency games.

just get a swap magic disk with either a slide tool, or switch for slim, or a flip top case for a regular ps2 model, it allows you to force the game to display in ntsc, ive done it with some pal gaems, though only problem is, i guess due to the way its positioned, the screen will be slightly out of fram on the top or bottom.

I play PAL games in a NTSC PS2. But it's modded. And the mod corrects not only the colors but also center the screen.

    It's a Sega game, so there's a 99% chance it'll have a 60Hz (i.e. NTSC) option ;-)

Thanks for all the tips. Forgive my ignorance on this matter as, even though i have many imports for various systems, i've never actually played any imports on the PS2. To the people who use the Swap Magic, how easy is it REALLY to use? Would it just be simpler to buy a modded PS2 that can play PAL and JAP games and, if so, how much would one run me? Thanks again for any info.!
