Hi, I've came to ask something very urgent & important um.. is it possible to make ps3mca-tool fmcb compatible for third party adapter? Because i only have that and not an official one sadly :-( but the weird thing is that my computer can Actually READ it & install the driver files for it but when it comes to the app and try installing it or formatting it, it'll show up as ERROR signing kelf! Please if anyone knows how to add support for the third party adapters let me know asap i can. Thanks if so!

Some people have tried before, but never succeeded. It seemed as if the device was just not designed properly, and fails when some Magicgate commands are sent to it.
Then again, we never had any experts on USB device programming.

Oh, but is it possible to have them work on this program though maybe like making a unofficial version made specifically for the device right? How about if i could give you shots of mines from the outside & insides or if possible, make a dump of the adapter with the usb logs and everything?

Here's a Korean site I've found that i think has the source code files (well just two .txt files only) http://experience.so/m/post/304 i apologize for the many posts on this thread it's just can't let the app go MIA or whatever ya know? Plus you may get questions like this in the future someday that may ask the same thing and might wanna contribute to a dead program or whatever. If there's Anyway i can do to help to make this happen, please consider it just for this one time. I really really want Free MCboot (and also honestly I'm doing this for a friend of mines)

The guy who attempted to make it compatible with the PS3MCA package reported that it would just fail. Since it would just fail, it could be just incapable of supporting MagicGate fully.

If it's impossible, it is impossible. I don't even have this device and nobody has specifications for it. It's almost like a different device since it doesn't function exactly the same as its original.
It's the same as getting a clone network adaptor to work as well as an official one: the makers didn't have the Sony specifications and probably made it to just work, from their point of view. But just it wasn't copied accurately.

I do have the original source code for the PS3MCA package as I got a copy of the entire package (which consists of more than just 2 files) from its repository, before it was taken down in 2011.

yeah true, if that's the case then i guess i have no choice but to buy a Swapmagic 3.8 off from Amazon as my second option and i believe i've could've been done in a minute installing the lastest version of Free MCboot easily :) but sadly i've made a huge mistake and i'm sorry for completely wasting your time and maybe anyone elses who've thought the same. Well i did had this one other alternative method/question, is it very possible if i could or someone made the ability to connect my memory card adapter i have and use it on PCSX2 while running Free MCboot app off from the emulator? That way no one gets the feeling that they've wasted their money on the wrong adapter.

Or you could try to get a genuine Sony PS3 MCA instead. Do whichever is easier and/or more cost effective for you.
PCSX2 does not support MagicGate fully, so it cannot be used to install FMCB with.

If you have a fat PS2 with a network adaptor, you could opt to install FHDB with your PC. If you could do that, then you wouldn't need to buy anything extra.

You might be able to install the independence exploit on your ps2 memory card using a 3rd party adapter, you'll need a PS1 original game to launch it though. You can then install FMCB, which is the way I did it (although I used some cheat manager that connected the computer to the ps2 to write the file to the memory card).

Do you happen to know the name of this cheat manager program you used to copy free mcboot over? I might try doing that instead :) Thank You!

Is it possible to install FMCB on a memory card and transfer it to someone?

I only have a DTL-H30101 E and a SCPH-10000 so I was wondering if I could perhaps use my uLaunchELF disc on my debug to put the necessary files onto my memory card for my SCPH-10000 to read from.

This connects your pc to your ps2, you boot your ps2 with a special disc that can transfer saves over the cable. There are other CD's that have the ability to run homebrew, which you could launch the FMCB installer on.

There is more information on the official forums, including people who will install it for you http://psx-scene.com/forums/official-free-mc-boot-forums/

KELF installations are non-transferable, meaning that FMCB cannot be copied across cards.

Anyway, the Debugstation is probably incapable of signing KELFs that are meant for retail sets. Even if you could make an installation (that was modified for use with Debugstation consoles), it will probably not boot on retail consoles.

The easiest way to get stuff onto the SCPH-10000 without tampering with the console, is to use the independence exploit on it. Otherwise, the PS3MCA package and a PS3MCA.

I guess a debug running ulaunch elf copy the independence save file from a usb stick to the memory card.

Nvm, i'll just stick to only buying the Swapmagic 3.8 instead and then i'mma just sell my adapter to someone around my neighborhood that will want it.

FMCB does not work on the MG enabled DTL-H hardware due to differences on how MC binding works on it (see SP193 post).

The installer program, also doesn't work.
