Hehehe, nope. Anyways, not going tooooo off topic, but what do you all think of Hillary Clinton running for President of the United States? My government teacher bet any of our students in the classroom that she will win, as much as he doesn't want to see her win. What do you all think?

Hey People: I have a question for you Canadians :) will Stephen Harper try to illegalise/remove the same sex marriage law again ? Or is that impossible to remove that law ?

Since I hope that, the law will not be removed.

But that is because I am a humanist :)

Well, he is eriosuly against it, as is many seats in the house of commons, im not too familiar with the extent of this particular law, as i believe it it still in a somewhat grey area in some parts of canada, imagine though harper will do everything to evict that law

  7. Has she even announced a bid for the presidency yet? I know there was all sorts of rampant speculation since even before the last election, but I didn't think there was anything certain. Same goes for former New York mayor Rudy Guliani.

However, regardless of who runs in 2008, the best candidate still remains Christopher Walken: http://www.walken2008.com/

he wont be able to do it since he is in minority, wich is a good thing. The opposition will stop all those conservatives moves.

Exactly. I'm not a very political person but I assumehe would have to bring it to the Supreme Court to get the law changed.

As for Hilary and Chris Walken ([IMG]), any one of those will be better than the dickhead you currently have as a president.

I voted for the Liberals mostly because of my local candidate. Despite the scandals, they managed the country pretty well, specifically the economy, and though they screwed up a lot of the unity stuff (e.g. almost losing in '95, and later on) I think it's a gamble with the Conservatives whether they might handle things better or worse.

I supported the Tories under Joe Clark and Jean Charest but Harper.... I dunno. I'm happy the Bloc went down in support.

With the Liberals having a leadership campaign I think were going to have our second lady Prime Minister after the next election (Stronach). Harper can be brought down at any point and when the Liberals are leading in the polls again and have a new leader they will topple the Cons who have a year and a half in power at most imo.

yeah, but check this: in the next 2 years the conservatives will act friendly and stuff, but not as conservatives. They will then bring all their good moves in the next ellection and friendly-ness, and more people will vote for them because it wasnt as bad as they thought it would be. Check it out when they will be majoritory though.

They are like in a rent-for-trial right now, they just need to make the liberals-like (scandals free :)lol:)) and they will get all the keys they need to make what they really want to.

I don't see Hillary winning for a number of reasons. For starters there has been talk for years about Hillary running so the Republicans have had years to prepare for her and they have lot's of ammo to use. She has all the things against her the people disliked Bill Clinton for but doesn't really have the charm that he used to get himself out of it. And while both sides have their spin doctors and smear tactics the Republicans are in a whole other league than the Democrats.

Personally I think the Republicans are going to tap Rudy Giuliani to go against her. Terrorism will again play a big part in the next election and Giuliani has the proven track record that he can handle a crisis and the respect that goes with it. That is going to make the difference.
