They did the same shit back in the 16bit and 32bit eras, the difference is that fighting games were a big deal back then, and today are almost irrelevant Even EA managed to diversify instead of being the company that only makes sport games
Here's everything you need to know about the current state of Capcom in a single image: *sigh* What's next? A turbo upgrade six months down the line? (Actually, it's probably best I don't give them that idea...) They can't even give me a new Marvel VS Capcom or just put out the last known build of BioHazard/Resident Evil 1.5 with some finishing touches and call it one last classic styled side story. On the other hand, why do we even need Capcom any more when there's already M.U.G.E.N. and Team IGAS doing a far better job of giving hardcore fans what they actually want?
Isn't there a law in Japan that forbids foreign acquisitions of businesses? The only two companies that I can see that might have an interest is either Sony or Nintendo.
I go away for 3 days and THIS is what I return to. Why do people think Nintendo will buy their favorite company? Nintendo is ass backwards and would completely ruin them.
Capcom executives are dumb. Announced Megaman Legends 3? People were like "What?!!! Awesome!!!!" And... Cancelled! People like me waited for Street Fighter x Tekken. And what they got? Disc-locked content on consoles, game split in half everywhere, and those DLC gems. And that's not for $10 plus $6 each DLC, it's damn full price. And you can continue the list of their flops. They are like stupid fruit vendor which keeps prices high until all his fruits will rot and he'll get no money at all. Or like my friend said - give a cucumber to an idiot ang he will manage to shot himself in a foot with it.
Unfortunately for MvC3, Capcom no longer have the licence and actually had to pull the digital download version so that they weren't initiating new sales with property other companies now have the licence for. It's not just down to a series but sometimes just a single character as while Capcom did have the licence, a new company often comes along and acquires exclusive rights. It's a shame but a unfortunate reality of the licensing business.
Nintendo is bleeding money because of the Wii U, they couldn't buy Capcom no matter how badly people want that to happen.
You know when we agree on something, it's a pending sense of doom That is a Calming thought so I thank you.
http://www.gamesradar.com/nintendo-doomed-not-likely-just-take-look-how-much-money-its-got-bank/ No, they're not. And yes, they could.
That article was written two years ago: since then they've gone down from a $10.5 billion reserve to an $8.6 billion reserve and done a stock buyback of over $1 billion on top of that. So yes, they are bleeding money big time.
I certainly hope they are, otherwise Capcom is more sad and pathetic than previously believed. I really can't see either one of them making the big acquisition. Sony as a whole is losing money badly (the Playstation division is doing alright, it's the rest of the company that's tanking), and I can't remember the last big big acquisition Nintendo made (maybe Rare?). Hence, Disney buying Marvel. MORE TALESPIN GAMES! Hell Disney could make a good bank just rereleasing all the classic Disney/Capcom NES games for Virtual Console.
You know I think it's most likely that Namco will buy out Capcom. The two are working together alot now aren't they?
As long as the new company doesn't use Capcom IPs to make new Pachinko machines, I don't care who buys them. The company is a sad shell of what it was back in the 80s and 90s, and possibly even in to the 2000s.
So you expect a company to go back to an unfinished game from 15+ years ago that they scrapped because they didn't like it?, let that sink in for a second
