No, need a 1.0/1.1 for more RAM.

I thought I remember reading somewhere someone taking 2 1.4 xbox's and removing the ram from one of them to place it into the other xbox and it worked...

    Could always be wrong though.

    Only V1.6 can't be upgraded.

Spots where the extra 4 RAM chips are supposed to be soldered to do not exist on v1.6 motherboard so it's maximum is 4 chips.

You need anything from 1.0 to 1.5 (with place to put the RAM chips) and flash an hacked bios with 64MB limit removed.

XD easy fix on MS part, remove places for extra ram.
;-) I never owned a 1.6, so I though about some limit in the southbridge.

Thx, and Chihiro keeps comming up as an nice project to look at when my current skool project is over.

Hello, has anyone seen any evidence of Chihiro GD-Roms being ran on a normal PC via a hack? I know it seems difficult to do on an Xbox console, but what about on a PC?

Chihiro is awesome, good luck others :p I make time to do my stuff.

(blueshogun96, how you see or need help? on what field? I know a bit of C/pp and getting in the kernel, also I know a few students who can read and write x86 machine code, just in case.)

Any help would be appreciated. The biggest hurdle is the CPU atm. I'm using libemu as the cpu core, but it's far too buggy for any real progress. I should have put more effort into using QEMU's code. But now that I finally got Intel-VMX working again, I can try experimenting with writing a kernel mode VM to replace the need for an interpreter/recompiler.

It's been a little while (about a month or two) since I've added any new code due to lack of work atm (need stable employment). The last thing I started doing was adding some basic PCM sound emulation code.

    My SVN: https://xenoborg.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/alpha/source/

    Dear friend

Could you help me for my project, I would like use the VGA and USB port behind the Xbox dev kit like I\0 board and SCSI port or ethernet (with netboot) for transfert .xbe dump chihiro games in the DIMM board Chihiro.
Do you think is it possible?

For the chihiro bios on Xbox Dev kit I can install with phoenix bios loader from XDK launcher, also initilalize all part of the Chihiro
    Thanks

@Monosto, Im very sorry if you talking about an normal Devkit, There is no vga(only some modded bioses support vga from the video conector)
And there is no usb. there is a thread about this kinda project and we heard there and many other places its a JVS plug going internaly nowhere.
I am right now not checking that thread, maybe you have been there to.

CHihiro in a retail/dev/debug xbox with help of phoenix may work. A devkit dvd emucard (scsi) may posibly used for sending dvd images, maybe if de GD-rom emu project succeed or/and we udnerstand the comms used, may edit/alter the dvd emu card (I say, replace by complete self made)
Anyway, Netboot ? is chihiro supporting that? because the normal retail/dev/debug is NOT. :D
There is no normal Bios in say a Xbox.
For Dumping chirhiro games i believe are already storries about how to do it. (see earlier in this thread, untested by me)

    Thanks

I'm sorry I do anytime the mistake with JVS/VGA usB port, but the idea is the same, use that like JVS Xbox Dev kit I/0 board, for the dump it work I tested with VC3.
I would like use the dump and charge it via SCSI port in the DIMM board

If you use the scsi of the Chihiro you can (I Dont own a chihiro)
but the DVD emu card is talking a diferent protocol I asume to upload a dvd image only. (Actualy, the image is always on the pc side)
With a Chihiro I asume (No source, Im n00b with chihiro) you load a image into this DIMM board you talking about. ass long as your Chihiro is normaly functional and you try to replace say the real GD-rom with your PC, use software that "talks" the same way like an GD-rom, than its maybe posible.
For those who know, is the GD-rom connected by scsi, and uploading an image to this DImm board? (This board wich has memory and an AMD chip)
or am I mistaken? I realy have to find time researching this with google. I also thinking about this security key you need, is that not also a problem in the proces of not using a GD-rom drive?

    Also: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-CHIHIR...248?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a20fcf958
Its to much for me, maybe some rich guy/girl ? Its not complete and Im no expert into this.

    Hi guys,

would anyone at all be able to upload root678's Fat X Explorer for chihiro? I have followed his tutorial and got myself a .dat file but his old mediafire download link isnt working anymore.

I would love a way to extract this file and his program seems to do the job I need
