They act as if it's an illegal drug! :smt030

  2. I'm pretty sure the site is a total joke.

But if it's not, how cool is it to be mocking the religious beliefs of others? So what if they consider it wrong? I myself am strongly opposed to pornography.

It's quite real. Was on ABC news--which is where I learned of it.

I was mocking no one's beliefs. I thought it was funny that they treat it as they do though. And I suppose you didn't visit the forums. Beware! :smt043

I have no problems with being opposed to pornography. I just thought the site was funny.

hey maybe it was, who knows ?

because it was not the archangel Gabriel or God for that matter who made out with virgin Mary/Maria

(don´t flame my arse for this remark)

I will never understand people who make such derogatory comments that ARE flames and purposefully invite a flamewar and then say 'don't flame me!'.

With comments like that you're treading on a lot of toes and unnecessarily being inflammatory. That comment was absolutely unnecessary and pointless; if you have your beliefs, be they atheistic or whatnot, fine, no one is going to insult you, no one is going to moxck and be derogatory about whatever it is you believe in.

And you in turn should stay away form making such derogatory remarks that are going to insult a lot of people with religious leanings.

And for the record I also am strongly opposed to pornography; it's degrading, insulting and the industry treats and women like shit, both literally and in the way it objectifies them.

oops my first mistake :)(come on flame my arse away i deserve it :)).

But i am also very strongly opposed to the bad treament of the women.

But still i can´t see anything wrong about watching pornography and i know it is not love they are only showing, it is lust.

I just don´t like fanatism in anyway because fanatism for me has always something i am staying away from.

And why i am not christian is because i saw people having double stands for people who they have known for many years and comdening them when there true sexuality was not very straight.

And that person was my first girlfriend , so it is very personal :).

but i beleave in God and see Jesus as a very good person.

and yes it was blasphemic to write what i said

but i said what i felt.

id-republix and all others flame me away i think i deserve a big beating and i will take it with a smile :)

as long i am not hated because i wrote what i thought and felt.

    peace.

I didn't see anything offensive in his first posting, which I intrepreted as:

"It was not the archangel Gabriel or God that had sex with the Virgin Mary."

I.e. it was Jesus. What would be so insulting about this? Yes, I know, it basically undermines the whole basis of Christianity/Jesus, but I didn't see it as a paticularly errant or off the wall mark.

Sex has always sold, that is true. Whether it be pornography, adult toys, or whorehouses, sex has been a major business throughout history.

I still don't see the problem here. It's simply a statement of opinion, and he said it rather plainly and under the radar as well. I see no problem there. If that's what he feels, then why should he be keeping quiet about it?

I'm not disagreeing with you, and I can see how it could be offensive, but I don't see the reason not to post it. Not to piss others off? Aren't different "beliefs" supposed to be accepted?

Do you say everything you feel whenever you quite feel like it? We ALL have areas where we severely disagree with others on this forum ; is it really necessary to post a comment like what was said, or comments that
are obviously inflammatory? What's the point?

I don't think it's a matter of tolerance of beliefs, it's insulting the beliefs of others. 'Early Chrsitianity was all about sex' - is this part of some beleief system? No, but it is insulting another's beliefs. It's hardly an integral part of 'beliefs'. There are forums that are very well-suited to this type of discourse, if you absolutely feel the need to vent what you believe or do not believe. You yourself are saying it's offensive; what makes it so absolutely necessary to be said despite its offensiveness?

Constantly replying here is really only extending it rather off-topic , and I have said what I wanted to say, and will keep it at that.

    id-republix:

    historically speaking (not biblical)

many sources from the time said that Joseph protected her because not even at that time in Israel was a pregnancy without the marriage accepted(yeah even then they killed people for it) and furthermore i saw a documentary about Jesus where one said that the same sources said other things too

and no it was not an insult it was my honest opinion

so the ones you have to blame is the people who made the documentary and not me because they only said the truth , the historical truth and not the biblical side of the truth

and by the way Mary and Joseph ran away from the gossip
that was also in the documentary

and i do not like to insult people at all

so if you feel insulted i am sorry about that.

last edit before i before i turn in it is 3am and i need my sleep so i will answer if i can when i wake up.

I am going to have to take id-republix's side on this one and say that there is no point in posting something that will make other members very angry, especially if you know it will make them angry. Coming out and saying "please don't flame me" pretty much means you know you are saying something rude and hateful, that will make some of the other members extremely mad. I just don't see the point.

I honestly don't see the problem in porn (other than warping people too young to watch), because the "actors" know what they are going in for and they are getting paid a very hefty amount, although I can't say I'd put a price on my dignity. The mistreatment of women is something I am against, however.

I heard a joke about porn one time. They were parodying the horrid acting.

    Doorbell rings.
pizza boy-did someone order a pizza?

    Woman-I didnt order no Pizza!...?

Then they do it for no reason at all. :smt043

Nah, I was just saying that people should speak their minds. Afterall, it's a bit different than coming on here and slinging around racial slurs etc.

    But enough of that. :smt043

I loved watching the news story on the website. There was some kid on it who was "helped" by the site before he got all caught up in it. And he looked at it like once. It was just funny because they were acting as if they were porn missionaries or something. :smt043
