Chrono Trigger port, remake or sequel coming to the DS???

Am I the only one who has a very bad taste in my mouth over this Chrono Trigger DS freaking remake ?

 

I'm with you, I think retro ports are incredibly lame, in fact I'd rather see a 3D remake, sequel or anything except a lazy port.

 

Wow! A remake from Square Enix? Who'd have thought!

 

I would have loved to see the two fan remakes.

Personally, I'm not interested in this.

Once I play it once, I don't want to play it on another console. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to play it again just for the stylus controls.

It may be good for kids who have never played it before, but I really can't see why anyone is hyped up for a game they've already played.

 

Personally I'm a little excited as it sounds like they're going to include some of the stuff that was cut out.

 

Not anymore. I already have the PS1 version.

It's nice square brought it back but are we really gonna play THE SAME game over again?

Depends on your definition of "we". There are plenty of people that will have a wank and play this.

 

Just think though. Chrono Trigger sells pretty well used on sites like ebay. It has a huge reputation. It makes sense to release it on the DS which has a bizillion (I counted) systems sold. Surely people will pay 35$ new for CT when they will pay even more for a used SNES cartridge.

Oh yes and the PS1 Chrono Trigger was horrifying. Oh the load times!!! Painful is the word.

 

This might have interested me more if I hadn't just played through this a few months ago using PSP SNES9x. Maybe if they add in a new dungeon or two, or additional endings. But a straight port? No thanks.

Actually I heard there will be a new dungeon. But we won't really know till winter.

 

Dang. I was hoping for some new 3D graphics or something :crying: ... Still excited! :thumbsup:

 

I love 2d graphics, but I too was hoping it would get the Final Fantasy remake treatment.
