Clayfighter Extreme PS pirate disc

I remembered that supposedly this game was distributed in the black market, and even EGM had a picture of it. In this thread...

Does anyone still have the scan from EGM that this guy linked to? I'm trying to see if I can track this thing down now, but having no pic makes it a bit harder.

I still wonder if EGM was just joking. Can't even figure out what issue it was in.

Few years is pretty sparse Plus I've searched the net plus this forum, no one has the pic anymore, let alone a reference to what issue the pic is supposedly in. Need more info

 

What year would this even be from? If I've got the year covered I might just flip through and see if I can find the image you're looking for.

So far I haven't had any luck even finding any of my EGM issues prior to 1998. I'll contiue to look though.

A copy sold / was for sale on the forums at some point. Probably not the pirate disk but rather an actual dev copy, but still

 

I have that issue that talks about the bootleg, as well as one that previews it. I'll have to go through all my egm to find it. If I do find it I will post it.

 

I sold a real version of the game (very early) to a collector last year but I did have a real one from a magazine...

 

Look forward to if anyone can find it. The fact EGM would get a pirate disc and review it just sounds a bit out there. I still doubt this story is even true, but I'm waiting for the results...

 

Sorry haven't gotten around to it yet, but no they didn't review it, they just reported it randomly. It was just a quick news bite.

Wait what the crack, that's Earthworm Jim! And I've seen this exact figure before in some magazine. Oh damn now you've got me searching for it. I'm going to scan it as soon as I find it.

EDIT:

Oh ok I found it, it's just an old advertisment with the same sprite but in another position. Since the game's been released I guess it's nothing special.

 

Wait, so is that screenshot up there one of the shots that a magazine previewed from a copy they received(an official copy), or is it a shot from this supposed pirate disc?

 

The screenshot I posted is from a copy that was for sale on the forums in 2008.
