Hey guys, I've got a modest collection of Xbox One controllers and I've just received a "I made this launch team 2013" controller. The front is flawless but the back is not in great shape, I was hoping to restore the controller to a like new condition, does anyone have any tips on how to get it cleaned up? It's not made of plastic but rather a rubbery material, I'm pretty sure it's the same type of rubber used on the Elite controller. I've tried rubbing it down with a cloth and 70% alcohol but it hasn't seemed to make a difference.
Try non-destructive cleaning tools I can suggest rubbing alcohol for getting the "cleaning" stuff all done and dealt with, but colour will still need something else a little more powerful. Also can we get a picture with flash enabled? It doesn't look too bad without the flash but the flash can reveal some issue spots.
Yeah I noticed this one on eBay that looked all funky, almost like an extra layer could be peeled off? Honestly I'm surprised people are using these seeing the consoles also came with a black controller.
Get a retail back, spray it with rubber plastidip. If it's the diamond grip, you'll have to either order the part from MS or part another controller.
That's a good idea, If I'm unable to clean it up I'll have to look into that and see if it creates the same sort or rubber as the controller. Worst case scenario is I have to replace them with the standard plastic white ones.
