Cheers m8, I hope to get some more pictures done over the next couple of days, although things are pretty chaotic at the moment!

I have a question for you oldengineer.
In one of your pics, you show an XBOX debug console along with some beta discs.
Among one of them is a Shenmue 2 work-in-progress disc. Can you tell me how far along the game is on that disc and if it has or lacks any features from the final build?

  4. SuperGrafx:

Hi thanks for your interest m8.

As for the content of the beta coded Shenmue 2 dual-layer disc I would have to check it out again sometime to be totally sure.

...From memory the game doesn't lack anything, quite the reverse.

...In fact I would go as far to say that its probably got more features than the retail release!

    Oh! Most interesting!

  6. Just updated site with a few Sega console games that were 'played to death in their time', nothing rare, purely sentimental to me :)

    >>> Sega Megadrive games, Sega Mega CD games and Sega Saturn games.

...You may notice that the Mega CD game 'Ground Zero Texas' came on 2 discs, which at the time was damn near 'revolutionary'!!!

  7. Updated today:

    Just a few bits...

    - Final Fantasy XI Package.

    - Nintendo Gamecube Game Designer Recruitment Package

    - Xbox Dev Discs.

Hey, great collection you have there! Maybe I've had my head in the sand, but I've not seen those GC machines before! Very nice!

I take it from your Sega stuff that you are in the UK, then?

Nice to have someone conserving information - I can tell you from experience how hard it is to try and find that info too late!

Woah, that GC with the carts in it is awesome! :smt023

I am in shock. I only looked at about 10% of the stuff too! :prayer: :prayer:

    Props.

    Thanks for the interest m8.

It's always nice to hear what people like to see an know more of.

Your response is noted and I shall start to dig out more facts to add to the site.

...Like you say its crucial to conserve what 'little' we know.

    einbebop44:

Glad you like the NPDP-Console, its a really nice piece of kit, definately one of my 'personal faves'.

The games and apps on the NPDP-carts are very cool as well :)

...The 'nice' thing with the carts is that u can 'fill' it with say four 'different' version of the same game and compare all four versions systematically without having to burn/swop disc's etc.

...As it happens I've just got another cart so that makes four now!

...The NPDP-GDEV is the 'ultimate' Gamecube Dev Kit though, it's on the site, along with the other 90% of stuff, lol.

...If u get chance check it out m8, that will run NPDP-carts and .gcm/.iso images via a P.C fitted with a 'custom' SCSI Emulator board :)

  12. Wow, praise indeed, much appreciated, cheers m8.

...It's great that you guys take an interest and are as keen as I am!. :smt023

...Looks like I'm gonna have to sort out some more stuff to add to the site, as well as adding more detail.

...I will keep you posted ;-)

    Cheers for now

That is one awesome looking XBOX system! I had no idea the box was so big!
How did they manage to pack that inlcuded manpillow into the box? Was it folded up or did it ship separately?

Ahhh, yes, I wondered how they was gonna do it, now I can reveal...

There's two parts to the pillow (don't laugh:)

...There's a blow up 'cushion' part, which you blow up and then slip into the 'life-size' pillow case !!!

Viola! you end up with an Xbox, ltd controller, 2 disc game pack, manual, DVD remote and dongle and a snazzy pillow 'kit' all in one neat package :)

Ohh...I was sort of expecting it to be a traditional pillow...with the cotton/down filling. I had no idea that it was one of those air cushion types.

Oh and before I forget, which optical drive did your system come with? Samsung, Thomson, or other?

I hear that all of the Kasumi Xboxes have come with Thompson drives. I've also heard that the motherboards are all V1.0.

    I can't confirm those, however.

...Looking at the drive tray I would say its likely to be a Thomson.

...I can confirm that the Kernal =4034 and the Dash =4920 (build date =01/09/04).

...Thus I would agree that the Motherboard is likely to be an 'early' version, such as a Ver 1.0

    Hope this helps :smt023

That's a bit odd, especially considering how many people complained about the Thomson drives in previous models. Oh well, I guess if it starts to act up you could always swap it! :)
