SuperGrafx wrote: That's a bit odd, especially considering how many people complained about the Thomson drives in previous models. Oh well, I guess if it starts to act up you could always swap it! ...Hmmm, well I'll be pleased if it is a Thomson as I've never had a single problem with Thomson drive's. If it had a Samsung drive in it, I would definatley be worried though :smt023
My friend's Thompson is starting to crap out ("dirty disc" error), but he's had his since launch. My Xbox is starting to worry me, though. It shut off in the middle of a game of Halo 2. Then again, it was on for about 8-9 hours straight. I assume it just overheated.
Wow! 8-9 hours of Xbox game play ...I'm lucky to get 8-9 minutes since the release of Half-Life 2 on the P.C ! :smt071
I got a Samsung drive with my crystal X. About the only damn thing that went right with that. :smt043
Quick update... Just added two Nintendo NR-Readers. >1 off NTSC >1 off PAL ...Oh and a pile of NR game disc's
not particularly since the samsung drives in the new crystal/1.6 xboxs have a new trype of samsung drive which reads less media. It still isnt as bad as a thompson, although it isnt the best drive you can get in an xbox (its middlish of the pack, the old one 1.1-1.4 was excellent since it could read almost anything!) :smt023
The Samsung in my 1.1/1.2 box reads anything I put into it quite happily :smt023 . CD-Rs and burned DVDs (not sure which type) are the only thing I've put in there so far (err, as far as burned media goes).

Hi assembler, I'm afraid I don't have any Panasonic m2 stuff ...Which is a real shame, as it's a stunning system, in my opinion. ...Still you never know what might come along one day
oldengineer: very impressive indeed, i only think this i wish i had a collection like that and i could programm * goes back to his SNES with no PSU at the moment and his chipped PSX and dreams*
Hi WolverineDK, glad you liked what you saw m8. ...As for programming you ought to think about getting a Net Yaroze to start with. Programming code is deliberately compact, thus reasonably achievable. ...This should help with learning C which is a good launch pad onto other things
Quick update to test the new Assembler forum... >PS2 game: Sly 2 *Reveiw Code* plus USB Security Dongle >Sega GDR: Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 (build 802) >Nintendo game pak: Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat and bongo's
