Who pays 220 US Dollars for a game, controller and adapter? I'll wait thank you very much. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00M35YLLY/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all
It's that stupid adapter. Nintendo didn't realize EVERYONE WITH A WII U WANTED AT LEAST ONE, so didn't make enough, and now the thing alone is going for over $100.
There's quite a few alternatives for this. A friend of mine pre-ordered it and EB Games basically turned around and told him, they had none. Not only did they gain interest from his money before the product, but he didn't get what he paid for. Got a refund and then ordered online... guess what? They didn't have any either. I think Nintendo will make another batch, it wouldn't make sense if the demand is there.
I'm almost certain they will, but it's just ridiculous that Nintendo failed to realize the interest, given that as soon as it was announced thousands of people said they desperately needed one. This was at E3, if I remember right, so that gave them plenty of lead time to ramp up production before November.
I was actually considering getting a Wii U, but that's not going to happen now, though possibly in the future. I guess it's just as well, considering this bullshit. I'm going to get some other game stuff instead, including possibly Out Run (Saturn) and What's Shenmue. I've also noticed that the Wii U system has gone up in price recently, which is weird. The fact that people will pay that much for an adapter that's temporarily out of stock proves that you can have lots of money and still have very little intelligence.
I've just send an e-mail to Nintendo support asking if there's any news regarding the GC adapter. Let's see if they'll respond. Fingers crossed.
Well if that hasn't bummed you out completely yet; then you are going to be saddened by Nintendo not issuing another shipment of some of the most popular amiibos like marth and the villager. The ssb4 bundle was entirely sold out on amazon and other etailers, so I managed to preorder it from bestbuy and pick it up in store with some amiibos. Apparently Nintendo declined to comment on the scarcity of the gamecube adapter.
Hori's Classic Controller Pro Gamecube controllers are pretty great alternatives! I'm hoping N will make more adapters at least.
I eventually want one of these for when Wii U gets hacked enough to restore Gamecube backwards compatibility.
They also made GameCube style controllers that plug into the Wii controller. I didn't realize this was that big an issue since I got two adapters
Mayflash made one before the Nintendo one was announced. I haven't heard anything about it either way, but you can get it for less than $100.
Yeah, I mentioned the Hori controller. It's basically a GCN controller without rumble motors and a few extra buttons. It's great. http://www.amazon.com/HORI-Battle-L...1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418285776&sr=8-1&keywords=Hori
Bwaahahaha... Called a guy from a dutch craigslist selling a Super Smash GC adapter bundle starting bid at 85,- euro. Asked what he wanted for it maximum, 120,- euro he said, so I told him he could shove it up his ass for that money I could tell he wasn't expecting that.. cause there was dead silence for a moment and then he laughed.. lol.
Here you go you greedy c*nts! Thank you Nintendo! Nintendo Dismisses Rumours That The GameCube Controller Adapter Has Been Discontinued: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...cube_controller_adapter_has_been_discontinued How else will they sell their new edition gamecube controllers if there's no way of hooking them up to the Wii U, just wait for the USB adapter to restock.
