Community Dump: crash bandicoot beta psx :)

you may have recently seen my posts on the crash bandicoot beta i own i have been in discussion with assembler and need to see what interest you guys in getting this out i was hopeing to raise $600 for release of the beta as i see drx has it up for $700 just so i can cover xmas for the kids ,so post away and let us know whos interested and would be good to donate

It is not worth $700. I mean it is not like we are buying the source code.

 

No but it is very rare and it seems alot of people have been waiting for this to appear at a good price, and worse case he's still selling it for $100 less than the next guy :thumbsup:

and P.S. just because its not worth $700 to YOU, doesn't mean everyone thinks its overpriced or doesn't want it

 

Betas for other games have gone for higher prices before...

 

i could ONLY imagine how much a modern warfare 1 pre alpha would go for......

I just dont see it worth $700. I mean, $300 sure, but this is a lot. Especially for a game Naughty Dog just threw into the bin when they finished a built test of it.

You are basically giving DRX almost a thousand dollars for a game he most likely found in a bin.

But by all means, go for it. Not stopping you, just expressing my thoughts here is all. After all, it is the Internet.

 

Yes, but there is a difference between saying "I do not think this is worth $700" and just saying "This is not worth $700" like you are an authority on prices.

 

I would definitely donate, a friend of mine would do it as well. As long as it's not really the same as retail.

Edit: If you would have the community dump at $400-500 then I'd be a lot more interested. I'm sure you have your reasons for wanting that amount. I myself am not one to speak because I will eventually have $2,000 community dumps. I don't know... Donations aren't as popular as they used to be, you may slowly get some of it.

 

i dont agree with the $700 price set BUt however i can release my own iso of this at $600 with no problems atall, im asking this price because theres a few more expensive things id like to treat my 2 boys to for xmas like a bunk bed for example as they have been really good and deserve it also i have a £100 debt i ow out before hand so its to cover these costs literally

 

Yeah, I understand. How about you start by asking for donations on your Paypal, record a couple of videos of the game and upload them to youtube whilst letting people know of the community dump and post on unseen 64. Along with that you could also try other beta sites.

I wish you all the best with this, I'll try to get some people to donate to you.

 

$600? Gosh, I wasn't expecting that at all! I'll just wait untill it leaks since other people actually have this version of Crash Bandicoot.

ok thanx brandon i got a few questions? whats the best way to record the videos if i boot it up in an emulater ? and yes i can do screen shots il get onit tonight also how do people pay to my paypal just give out my email address will that work ? or will it need setting up ? im new to all this as you can tell also does the money go straight to my bank or is it stored on paypal untill its transferd so i can keep tabs on the total balence ?,what screens you guys wanna see?

 

Don't worry about recording videos. The fastest way is to make screenshots. PSXfin has a feature implemented to take screenshots (F12 button i think) you can upload them to photobucket as a group, and then post all the links in BBcode at once so it's quicker.

If you still want to record videos, FRAPS is the most common & effective way but you must purchase it.

I recommend showing screenshots of things that differ to the final version of the game so people can identify differences etc.

 

Well, people will at least want to see a level. There's a bunch of screen recorder programs. How about you try a trial or just download Camtasia studio for that or just find another screen recorder.

You just hand out your email address, the money will stay on your paypal until you transfer it to your bank.

I'm a noob to PS1 betas, will this work on a standard console if burned to a disc?

 

if you have a modchip or action replay yes

 

If the console has a modchip installed, then it should work. If not, you could always do the swap-trick. It's very easy, but it can break the PS1 over time if done too much.
