The Hello Kitty just looks like a new X plate on top of a skeleton (smoke) XBOX. They sell the designer X plates in Japan. The S controller can be made in China pretty easily, I would imagine. You can assemble the hardware yourself for less than $100 I'm betting. The box is easy for a manufacturer as well. I'm guessing a Hong Kong special made by a Chinese manufacturer. Also, the Smoke/Skeleton was released 30 days after the original XBOX release, I believe. It was supposed to be a Japan Only deal to make them feel all fuzzy and special inside. 50,000 copies. ProgrammingAce....you might want to include the Dino Crisis Japanese XBOX. It's a regular console with a special Dino Crisis box and Dino Crisis 3 bundled game. I don't have it on my website (still only recognizing the big 4) but it's probably worth consideration since it wasn't made as a cheap bundle pack to generate quick sales. I'm going to buy one when I find a cheap one but they're still getting $100+ over here, more if brand new. There's also a DOA set that includes the DOA game in a white cardboard shipping box. That was released with the initial XBOX release. That one is very hard to get and usually comes sealed.
Thanks for clearing that up for me,how rare are the black cased dvt4 dev kits, did they make the black dvt4 dev kit first, then the crystal dvt4 dev kits.
The Hello Kitty LE is authentic and official. It was never sold solo however. You could only purchase one if you also purchased a specific TV (Samsung I believe) during a promotional period. -hl718
Here is the ad that Samsung ran promoting the sale. As the ad says, there were only 550 of the Hello Kitty Xboxes produced. It ran from 10 Mar - 10 Apr, 2005. South Korea only. The promotion was designed to sell Samsung LCDs. At the time the company was heavily cross-promoting with Microsoft due to Samsung's selection as the "official" Xbox 360 TV. Enjoy. http://www.samsung.com/sg/presscenter/pressrelease/downloads/promo_106425.jpg -hl718
Hello Kitty Collector's Pack Xbox Photos I know it is not good manners to bring up an old thread. Thought that you guys would like a closer look at the Hello Kitty Collector's Pack Xbox. Unfortunately, We had to sell most of our collection to relocate me and my wife in November of 2008. This was because I was to start a new job. Hello Kitty was one of the things that we let go of. I am still sad every time I think about selling our collection. The career move was for the best. We are much more stable now. Hopefully soon we can start collecting again. That's it. Hope you like it.
We are fairly casual on necrobumping. So long as it adds something to the topic, it's no problem. We do, however, have an overzealous auto moderation system, which put your post on the moderation queue for having pictures. You might find it happens again - someone will get round to approving your posts, though Thanks for sharing the pictures!
Very nice post. I'd do almost anything for one of those complete like that. Would also be very nice for some photos on the XBOX archive
