    Hi guys!

I stumbled upon an article on a Rare fan site saying that there was indeed a Conker's Twelve Tales (CBFD) proto that was leaked and bought for a ton of money and this person also has a Dinosaur Planet (Starfox Adventures) proto as well. Does anyone have anymore information on this? I am super interested!

Sure it surfaced, then vanished. Search the forum we had a few topics on it.

Yeah, I have been looking around and it seems that know one knows where the Conker one is. The most I heard was an employee from NOE a couple years back sold it with a bunch of other protos like Perfect Dark.

Didn't a prototype of Perfect Dark or something get sold on here last year? I remember something because Rare used massive N64 testing carts

There was someone selling a debug cart of BFD here last year from what I remember. I forgot the details of the other one but there was someone with a Twelve Tales proto that someone got in private, no idea who anyone involved in that was.

Twelve Tales is still my most wanted proto. Still hoping someday a ROM turns up before it gets lost in history forever.

The person who bought conker I believe was nintendomad and he died, so it's probably in a bin by now?

Is there any more info on this? Was it an early version or release version? Very interested in dumping internal file contents...as the release version had beta GoldenEye files, I imagine this had more...

From what I remember it was a version of Conkers BFD that was completely uncensored. So all the swearing wasn't covered up with sounds. Not sure about the other changes.

Rare used very interesting N64 carts. First ones I've ever come across like that.

Actually I meant PD but still interesting. Rare's protos seem to be nonexistant...

Which proto did nintendomad get? BFD debug, or the Twelve Tales one? I just was going through his posting history and recognize him posting. I even responded to it, since he was saying it seemed unlikely Twelve Tales ever got onto cartridge since it probably didn't make it far into development. If he found a proto of it, he definitely got proven wrong the best way possible :x

Didn't know he passed away though. That's a shame :( Also is a shame to think what will/has happened to whatever he's collected.

Twelve Tales didn't make it far into development? I thought it had been nearly completed before being scrapped?

Here's a strange thing: this gameplay video reminds me of Croc: Legend of The Gobbos so much, it's a little uncanny.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b62E8s6FXw&feature=related (Twelve Tales)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kn7MgUN_94 (Croc Level 1)

I'm assuming that Argonaut Games just ripped off the idea from Twelve Tales, but it seems curious because of the history Argonaut had with Nintendo (being the developers on the Super FX chip, as well as working on several high-profile SNES games) and Rare also being a high-profile developer with Nintendo at the time.

EDIT: Actually, I've realised it wasn't Croc it was reminding me of - it was Mario 64 & Sunshine (was playing both games at similar times, so thought that Croc could triple jump with cutesy noises). In other words: ignore my ramblings...

I don't really notice anything similar at all to be honest, besides being free roaming games, like all 3d games heh.

So I guess nintendomad's copy was the one that was sold here? Which was a CBFD proto. Because there was also a Twelve Tales proto that sold privately that I remember being told about, I even posted about it at the Rare Witch forums back then seeing if anyone would be interested in trying to set up a funding for it if we could have a go at it. Unfortunately all the users on that forum showed themselves to not only be little kids who weren't even familiar with the original Conker's Quest, but they didn't even understand how to stay on topic :( And then I found out the seller ended up finding a buyer in private, so that went nowhere in the end.

I think it was a CES copy, but I'm not sure. All I remember is it was an early version. And the price was somewhere over $14k. This was all back in August 1009 for the record.

I do recall the supposed Twelve Tales proto, but no proof was posted at the time, and it was 'sold' quickly. It was on some other forum... Hoping it pops up again sometime
