Hehe -- I think it's quite clever. I doubt the author is being serious. I'm sure his point is poking fun of the irony of most Republicans in office... at least the president. He boasts of going to bible class, and being this God-fearing Christian, yet he does things that scream of unchristianity. Christianity is based on loving they neighbor -- not bombing, invading, pillaging, and sexually demeaning them in prison.

Don't invoke the wrath of FLorida for it might strike again Nov.2nd :).

Gaijin, Islam is the same exact thing, love thy neighbor, help those that are unfortunate, etc. but you have a lot of these who are fanatics who are trying to convey the image that Islam is all about suicide bombing (been around since the late '70s) and chopping off heads which stacks higher than humiliating poses done in a prison, i mean come on, that shit happens in US prisons all the time. And most, if not all of them, deserved it. That's just my opinion. There are good sides to each religion and the Inquisition and Crusades were the bad times for Christianity's image, I guess its Islam's turn. I have friends who are muslim and are very sensitive about the image mass media/the world has portrayed them to be nothing but terrorists.

    It's now dead GSL.

Lobbing off heads like that was indeed brutal, but you have no call to compare rogues and bandits like those to what claims to be a sopisticated, morally-driven and accountable armed force occupying a land for democracy's sake.

And please, get your head out of the sand. Humiliatiing poses is all you think it was? THIS is waht happened, madhatter, and this is only what has been verified and documented by agencies such as Amnesty International and testified to before your own Congress, and this is only a small list:

    1. Rape of innocent men aginst whom there were no charges
    2. Rape of innocent women against whom there were no charges whatsoever
    3. Deliberate murder of inamtes detained under no charge whatsoever
    4. Stripping young girls nakes and forcing them to be paraded around in front of jeering soldiers
    5. Forcing innocent men to masturbate in front of soldiers
    6. Raping inmates with broomsticks
    7. Raping young boys through sodomy and recording this on video; this video was also brought before Congress; and excerpt form Hersh's testimony:

    http://www.pastpeak.com/archives/2004/07/post_1.htm

You are clearly unaware of the fact that the vast majority of the prisoners in there had no charge whatseover agsinst them. Even if they did, the Geneva Convention and the basic human dignity and freedom for which Bush claims to be fighting for prohibit this completely. Thee is NO JUSTIFICATION whatsoever for what happened there, using US prisons - and keep in mind the rape etc there is nearly al3ays by inmates,, not guards etc - is no basis whatsoever.

You mean what by this? That sinking to such lows as rape of young boys, murder and rape of innocent women and men, and recording all this shit for kicks is deserved and justified?

You know what's justified? The death of every single US 'soldier' who has murdered one of the thousands of innocents in Iraq killed by the US indsicriminately, who raped, mamed and sodomized the nation your president tells you he invaded to free.

I have in Iraqi friend whose aunt was raped in a US prison. She was neevr charged with anything whatsoever, only her home raided and her family brought in to prison.

What if that was YOUR mother, madhatter? YOUR sister? YOUR little brother being ass-raped with jeering soldiers recording it on a digicam? YOUR father forced to jerk off your uncle and then killed ?

Please, educate yourself. Ignorant comments like yours above that are so strikingly devoid of any fact and so sadly inhumane only serve to further create support for the agenda of those who would see humanity's humanity itself destroyed in the name of world domination.

    http://web.amnesty.org/library/index/ENGAMR510772004

What happened - and is happening - in Iraq - are war crimes, crimes against humanity. Bush, Rumsfeld, and every single solider there who has raped, maimed and killed is a war criminal.

That is a really fucked up story, id-republix. I had no idea the level of humiliation (and murder, no less) was taken that far.

I just become more ashamed of my country every day.

    Great pic. :smt042

The part I find most sickening about Iraq is how horrified everyone is that these nasty "terrorists" are actually *gasp* trying to make us leave!

Blasted idiots. By the way most people and the media paints it, a US soldier's life is worth 20x more than an Iraqi's, and is 20x less justified than the deaths idrepublix mentioned.

The stuff that goes on in our own country is probably more sickening than what goes on almost any place else. I speak not of corrupt governments, but the outlandish violence, murdering, raping, etc. that occurs. Could be wrong, but shouldn't we try to clean ourselves up a bit, before trying to push our amazing "democracy" and "freedom" on folks?

Don't be asahmed of your country. The American people as a people are not to blame for this; an extremely small circle and elitist group of the poltiically and financially powerful is, who direct the government and who direct the military.

That said, the very widespread ideas among the general *world* populace - not just America's - about Iraq, the so-called war on terror, etc are not without blame on the people who so collectively swallow them. We are all human, and we all have humanity and intelligence, and we all are able to scratch the surface and see what reallay happens outside the dogma of the politically and financially powerful elite who for all their grandstanding do not give a damn about us. And if we don't, we are indeed blameworthy.

GSL: We know you're a mod, but I don't think you have to police so hard. I simply pointed out "the joke" or at least my interpretation of it. Growing up in the bible belt, and having my faith questioned because I favored the left (that's not a joke) I generally tend to see things in such a way. On that note...

    Madhatter:
Agreed on Islam being the same... in terms of love thy neighbor, don't behead them, and what not. That, as well, is the whole irony of the situation. Both sides are doing this "in the name of God", yet is the complete opposite of what each God stands for.

I think, however, two wrongs don't make a right, and the bigger nation will be the one to admit that killing people is no the answer.

The exact same reason I like conspiracy theories so much. They are so crazy, that they are intriguing.
