So I've had this as well as 3 other internal units stored away. Out of the 4 2 work great, 1 worked great when I stored it away however when I pulled it out to check again a few months later it would just instant red dot. The console in the video below has worked fine up until today when I went to put it in a chassis with the intentions of rebuilding it is where I noticed that it would work perfectly fine, until it was placed in a chassis. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Something is definitely shorting out, there might be a capacitor leg that is too long.

Maybe the production spec chassis has an extra grounding point that wasn't on the prototype board?

Well that's what you would think, but nothing was apparent after a visual inspection and after a continuity test there was no dead short. I even went as far as to mask off the bottom of the chassis with vinyl but unfortunately it didn't help.

I don't think there is a difference but, I have installed 2 of these into a regular chassis before with no problems.
