well i tried following things on from this http://www.xbmc4xbox.org/wiki/index..._computer_to_the_network_via_cross-over_cable but it seems out of date since im using windows 7 and its using xp. i tried using VPC but wouldn't work. does anyone know how i can do this using windows 7? or if someone can help me via TeamViewer or something? thanks!
If I plug my Xbox into my debug kit, it automatically obtains an IP address if connection sharing is enabled. Standard patch cable.
completely forgot about sharing lol. that worked. kinda. it will connect to xbmc live but for example youtube videos opens but goes black
Connect the XBOX to your local network from UnleashX or EVOX... then Start XBMC it should automaticly obtain the IP, and I believe it's a matter of using the FTP in XBMC to access what ever you want to access...
I have my xbox sharing movies from 2 different Windows 7 PCs. When you add a video source and choose SMB, when it asks you for the computer name, instead of the name I use the IP address and it never fails to recognize the shared folder I am pointing to. I could never get it to work with the computer name.
XBMC4Xbox does not read most videos encoded with h.264 right. Most new videos on youtube are in that format. So videos will work but keep in mind that youtube support on Xbox is shaky at best. One thing I do recommend is Navi-X. They do support youtube, I've never tried that portion of the script but the rest works awesome. You should give it a try!
