Could you go without your PC for a day?

I'm thinking about doing a 24-hour computer detox...heh. I mean while I'm at my house, turning it off for 24 hours and leaving it off, not like when I travel or something like that.

Add to that my XBOX360 for good measure. Maybe no electronics for 24 hours. Maybe even add my mobile phone to the mix. No TV, too?

I honestly wonder what I'd do with 24 straight hours of nothing electronic dominating my attention.

 

Its quite nice to just drop the electronics for a day, or even just the majority of the day. Lets the eyes and brain rest and take in normal life heh

 

No Booze, No Smokes, No Sex and now No Computer?!!!

I can live very well without my consoles and also without internet during holidays.
Regarding everyday life, there are days that I don't turn on my PC nor my consoles. I just watch a movie and go to bed, but thats mainly b/c I came home late.

 

I normally go on my PC every day but usually weekends are spent off them.

I didn't go on my PC from friday afternoon until yesterday evening for example and to be honest don't usually miss it.

 

My computer has been throwing blue screens at me and my laptop hard drive died, so I've done this the last few weeks.

 

My computer died on me last may. I had to use my wii for internet. i duno if i could do it.

Usually, I say yes. In fact, I had my computer in a box for a month or two once because I wasn't fussed.

But deadlines on work change that somewhat.

 

I've done it lots of times, but taking those "hangover Sundays" my computer is almost always on. Not because of I need my computer, the music is what I need. Most of the time my computer is on just with winamp playing tons of music...

 

Nope. I take a laptop everywhere significant, except holidays. Even then i normally sneak a quick hour in an internet cafe

 

ever since i got my first laptop, my computer usage had doubled easily.

now with the EeePC, i'm hardly ever off the computer. Though its winter and their aint much to do...

 

Its not often I use my laptop at home (he says sat on his ass on the sofa). I normally exhaust it that much through the day I have nothing left to do when i get home.

Probably the only time I switch it on is when there is an auction ending, I need to update my trade lists or I fancy a game of poker.

Non electronic days are good for the brain, you sometimes do need a rest from these things even if you think you don't.

 

I usually try to stay away from my Mac/PC/cell phone on the weekends. It's a great feeling really...nice to spend time with the gf and friends without constantly checking email, etc.

 

The other day my power supply went out for some reason. Couldn't get one until the next day. I went bannanas looking for crap to do.

I vaccummed the floor, I was so desperate.

 

I know, I rarely use the computer when I am with friends, and I definitely keep away from it when I'm with a girl (come on, if you have a gf and you spend your time with her on your computer you're really fucked up).

The feeling that even when you're with someone you feel lonely because of the computer sucks...

 

Yeah, thats usually why my computer is on too, though since it's been so retarded lately, theres luckily a million other devices I have that play music.

 

My computer is always on. Unless I'm with the gf. Pretty much, if i'm not working or with the gf then i'm playing a game or on the lappy. i'm a busy person. lol

 

Easily, as long as it wasn't my work computer during a week day. Weekends no problemo.
