Counter-Strike for iPhone, new community based project.

I've been developing shit programs for iPhone for a while now and fancy a change of direction.

Back in November a friend and I started working on a FPS engine using Unity in order to make a clone of Counter-Strike for the device.

The idea has lain dormant since then but we want to get it off the ground. Rather than being typical Apple developers and surrounding everything in a web of elitism, profits and mystery we've decided to take the community approach.

If you're interested in helping or just want to have a look, then I've set up a forum.

There's not much on there at the moment, but as the numbers pick up I'll start throwing out more info and content.

Sounds interesting even though i don't have an iphone at the moment.

Also I probably can't help much if at all but will head over to the forums regularly to see how this progresses just because its CS (which i love) and on the iphone.

 

Thanks, like I said there's not much there at the moment, I'm working on getting the engine finished right now but I can't upload pictures or videos as where I'm staying has shockingly slow internet.

 

I hope I can use an aim bot on that.

Better make sure you disable any wallcheat's, we all know how seriously some people take CS!

Done quite a lot of work on the engine recently. Got a good dual stick control set up working but can't decide what to do about a fire button.

There just isn't enough screen real-estate, was thinking of maybe using the microphone as the fire button...tap to fire??

 

yeah i've never cheated on that game - I wouldnt even use the interp stuff

It's sad that you refuse to believe there are people that would not cheat at games. I have never used cheats in CS. Ever.

 

As I said, neither I have. There is a great satisfaction to be found in CS when you finally get good at it. It can take a lot of practice but it's worth it.

Oh you mean the legitimate reactions to a person being a douchebag. It's online cheaters like you seem to support that keep me from playing competitively online or really even for fun anymore. Typically I only play LAN or single player games anymore on my PC.

Also in response to your earlier question you asked in general, I haven't ever cheated online. I may have messed around with console codes for fun in single player games or against bots, but I would feel like I was ruining the fun when playing online. If you ever want to play an online game of CS:S and feel like cheating feel free. I have no problems trying to get you banned. I got two people VAC banned from CS:S back in the last clan I played in.

 

I will be showing off a basic engine test in about a week. I don't have anyway of connecting my Mac to the net at the moment which is severely hampering my progress.
