Main problem with PVMs is that sometimes it's very hard to find it locally and shipping can be really expensive - these monitors are heavy. But sometimes miracles happen - i got NEW 20" BVM for about 70 euro, and waiting for new GDM-C520K for my PC and BVM-A32E1WM for movies and widescreen games.
Look like he has a 20 inch. Anything over than 20inch can cause problems fo retro gaming's as quite few people experience that by mention it on fourms. 20 inch is very heavy. Definitely need two people to handle it. Planning to ship this item would cost some alot. Depends on seller opinion and location. I used to have 20 inch pvm in the past. If you dont mind the size of 20inch which is massive and it will take a very big space and if you willing to have a slightly less quality picture - then go for it. 14 inch is the perfect size for best screen quality. This is the reason I still have 14inch when I got rid of 20inch.
there are quite a few cheap 14" on eBay but the trouble is its collection only. ive missed out on a few decent deals because of this so i guess ill just have to wait until i can get a local ad pop up thanks for the help guys
I've payed R$500 ~ $200. It is 29". There's a HD 16:9 model that is 32" also. The problem with PVM is that it takes time to show up. It took me at least 3 years of continues searches to find it. But if you find it... it's awesome. By the way, check this thread: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=49292 To be honest, the best way to move today is a PC hooked to a large tv and emulators. Take the N64 as an example. Even with the HDMI board that is about to be released it's not even close to emulators with graphic plugins + AA a bunch of other Nvidia goodies. Also it's possible to play Zelda with proper 16:9 and see beyond the screen. 3D consoles are a must for emulations. In my humble opinion, 3D consoles don't fit scanlines. They look better on emulators.
ill look into that, considering I've got a tv at the end of my bed i was thinking about getting one of those tiny cube PCs to go with it for Netflix but now that I've seen that i might have to look into it more, thanks
I've built one considering cost x benefit and used a coolermaster HAF cube enclosure. Ended up with an awesome PC with a 760 GTX. I highly recommend getting a PC for new games and for emulation. Besides Metal Gear Solid there's no other Playstation 4/Xbox One AAA title that won't get a PC release this year.
I'm rocking a sony trinitron, its no pvm by far but it does display my component modded super fami awesomely.
Well the type of PC i was thinking of getting was one of the ones that are around the same size as a mac mini as im not much as a PC gamer
