If an SD card was interfaced with the adapter, would a computer be able to read it? Or does it get written to in a way that a computer can't read it directly? I understand that if a computer could read the card it wouldn't have a bunch of different game saves, but just one memory card image file.

I guess this only depend at how lazy I am that day ;) Supporting file system would require more work than writing RAW information on the card. But I guess being able to transfer save file would be great feature for sure and worth the additional work required.

Will there be enough space on the current pic to allow passthough for game saves to a controller plugged in with a memory card? You talked about passing just the memory card stuff to the n64 controller and the rest to the gamecube.
I bought all the stuff and it shipped the voltage pump ics are expensive though!

Yes I'm planning to do the controller pass-through with the current version. Just didn't got time to do it.

Btw, I implemented the config menu to handle the current feature set this weekend. Added the possibility to change the adapter mode on boot by holding the D-pad direction too.

I really hope once the code gets really fleshed out and feature rich that someone will go about mass producing a fairly priced preassembled unit

I started building my adapter but need to re order parts. Can someone post digikey.ca part numbers for the capacitors as I got all metal can type and smd.
It is so sad to be this close to trying it.
I got the voltage pump all built and wired.

By the way small update. Didn't got much free time to work on the adapter. I'm hoping to finally add the pass-through mode this weekend.

Hi I am having a bit of a problem.

My adapter shows controller 1 not connected. I have tried multiple read and writes to the pic and they are all successful. I have verified the correct pin out for the controllers and voltage and ground is on the correct pins. I tried multiple games. Any idea what could cause this?

Got it fixed and its working!!!
I was using an extra extension cable.
Seems extension cable must of been dropping the voltage too much.
I also just tied the 3.3volts for the rumble motor to 3.3 supply for a test and that works with no probs. I would say 5 volts will be better but the 3.3 shakes pretty good For 1080 snowboarding.

I know it's slightly off topic, but there are these new thumbstick replacements for the N64 that look a lot like Gamecube joysticks:

They seam to have a slight responce time issue with fast movements and also they are a lot more sensitive than the originals.

    See this review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfneTvNVJcI

You can buy them on ebay for about $8: http://www.ebay.de/itm/170684364342?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

As far as I know they also have a small microcontroller inside that does the translation just like your Cube DX adapter.

Do you think it would be possible to flash those chips inside these new thumbsticks with a altered version of Cube DX firmware to make it work more like the original thumbstick?

Cube64 won't help since it's all base on the serial protocol used between system and controllers.

But in that thread over gamesx their a lot of info on some project base on changing the joystick.

    http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3574.0

IIRC some got the sensitivity right.

Due to constant demand, I'm planning to do a very limited run this spring once I finish university.

If we would have to provide our own case for the circuit board I am cool with that I may not be able to solder, but I carve, chop, shape and polish.
