https://mobile.twitter.com/StudioMDHR?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author Who else is riding the hype train? I'm incredibly excited for this one. Only two days left!
The game looks amazing graphics wise, but am I the only one underwhelmed by the incredibly linear keep-moving-forward-while-shooting approach? Something more akin to say Silhouette Mirage or maybe a Mega Man/Pulseman hybrid would have been better. Hopefully it's a success and they do another hand-drawn game in the future that doesn't look so monotonous. I really want to love it considering the amount of work that went into it, but the gameplay just seems sub-par.
Was that actually for real? Is Polygon back at it again? Remember that they didn't get their jobs because they're good at video games. They got their jobs because their gud @ ritin'. Or they knew somebody up top. Probably the second one.
His name is Dean. You might have heard of him in recent articles defending him being bad at platformers. It's one thing to be bad at games and can be forgiven. We all know this and have our deal (for me I cannot play FPS games period), but it's another to not even make it past the first level, and struggle on a tutorial stage on a considerably simple platformer. Unfortunately things like this are common (or more common now) and can often bring bad publicity. Dean has taken it rather well and I will give him credit for it. Though it leads to a big point. If this is your first time watching Cuphead gameplay, you might be very turned off to the game completely after seeing it.
I love how Polygon's DOOM video is also mentioned. That was... it was as if my sister, who's never played an FPS besides the original DOOM with me for a few minutes, was attempting to play the game. Back on topic, I see that Let's Ruiners, er, I mean Let's Play-ers are already spoiling the game for people. Good to see PlayTube is alive and well. I need to stop looking at anything related until I play it Friday.
Omg that youtube video of him failing at the tutorial makes ME feel embarrassed to be the same species as him. This dude dashes so late, it's like he has the reflexes of a dead cow. It annoys me complete idiots like that guy get decent jobs where I constantly have trouble finding employment. Well I mean I know why, because companies now hire people based not on how smart they are, but how "privileged" they are.
Game is probably fine. Visually it's probably had the most care and effort put in than most 2d platformers on the market for these systems so for that I think they just get good boy points from me. It's a platformer. You shoot things. You fight bosses. You jump and move. I'm sure you collect something as well. Only way to fail it is if your controls aren't good, and from what I understand they're pretty good even if it's not using a d-pad.
I'm ready. The D-pads broke on both of my Xbone controllers, so I finally bought a Brook Xbox360 to Xbox One controller converter in preparation to play this. I have a Razer Atrox joystick for 360, but I'm not sure if I'm going to play this with a stick or a 360 pad. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DK2F-eAU8AIEVMg.jpg
I Pre-ordered Cuphead a few days ago and was so lookinh forward to trying it out last night but guess what, even though Japan is GMT+9 hours I couldn't play the game even though it was the 29th for us. No, I've got to wait until 10pm tonight. Talk about bull shit. That's practically a whole day late. Unfortunately I'll be drinking tonight (or is that fortunate ) so looks like this will be my Saturday afternoon cartoon
In no way did I imply this. Most people will play with an analog stick. If there's no d-pad support then they fucked up hard. What I was getting at is that the controls for an analog stick aren't bad.
This is a PC Purchase for me, unless the devs skirt around the exclusive to XBOX thing with a Director's cut that ends up on Switch. Because this game belongs on Switch.
Well, if you can call the Xbox One D-pad an option. I don't because the D-pad broke on both my controllers after light use. Not that it was much of a D-pad to begin with. That's why I got the Brook converter.
Well I have the code and I'll be getting off work in a few minutes. I'll post how it is once I dump a few hours into it. Very excited. I can inform people how the controls are as well.
I'll be using a NES Pro 30 controller, the Xbox dpads can screw themselves. Well I preordered the "deluxe edition" (I'm hoping for a sweet soundtrack =P). It's raining like a mother out there, so looks like I know what I'm doing this afternoon
