I'm using a PS4 controller and it feels right at home. The Pro sounds like it would fit the mood of the game well haha. So the controls are really tight no matter analog versus digital. I found myself using the stick and not even realizing it until a few minutes in. It's exactly what we thought it would be, nothing more nothing less: a 2D side scrolling shooter with slowly increasing difficulty, amazing animation and quirky characters. It feels great and you'll immediately feel at home the minute you're controlling the character. Dying isn't frustrating and you learn as you go. For the asking price I feels like there's so much fun to be had here. I only hope the modding community can get their hooks into it. I personally would like to see the vintage effect/filter removed but that's only because I dislike filters in general. I would always turn the noise filter off in Silent Hill 2 and 3.
It's working quite well, and a nice little touch is the game changes the buttons so it shows the right buttons for this controller (Since the buttons are laid out different on Nintendo controllers). I haven't come across this yet in other games, and it's a nice touch. The game does control very well, with sticks or D pad. The presentation is, as predicted, awesome. The old school film effect doesn't break pace at any time(yes, I like the filter =P). Really the only thing making it not seem like it's from the correct time period is the 60fps scrolling (a little jarring at first, but obvious why they did for control benefits). So far really liking it, the store/upgrade system looks promising, and lots of stuff to explore on the map screen it looks like.
Not a good game for playing with the stick, due to moves like the dash, and the shoulder buttons for fixed shot. I'm fairing well with an Xbox 360 pad. It's not the best, but the quality is miles better than the Xbox One D-pad. The game seems like it's going to be much longer than I expected. I was expecting 8 stages or so and done. Longer games aren't necessarily a good thing for me, since I'm old, but we'll see what I think when I'm closer to the end.
Nice! Honestly from a technical standpoint it's a flawless game. Runs amazingly even on low end hardware, no glitches, no hiccups, no nonsense. I'm surprised by the amount of content for the price as well. All around just a great game.
The steam version? Or is there another one? Anyone tried to play using a core m7 laptop with Intel integrated graphics? My girlfriend would be interested if her laptop can actually run it. (BTW those core m7 laptops may not be good for gaming, but they're an impressive fit for low resources productivity with snappy response and long battery life)

I'd honestly like to see that. I might buy it anyways for myself, but I'm in no hurry to buy it as I have no free time right now.
I'm actually gonna give it a go, because why not. My expectations are low though, Intel GMA is...very high end.
I'll be damned... I'll do a little video showing to what extent this runs (spoiler, not much) I'm amazed this boots up at all. This thing is WELL below the recommended specs.
playing it with my son who is 10. we love the game but its really difficult. i can play most games without hands but this is a corker. we are about 18% complete.
Anyone know which version is more profitable for the devs? Steam or GOG? If I'm to buy it, I might as well optimize what the devs receive.
I'm pretty sure both are around 30% (don't quote me on that) but in general I prefer GOG so I'd get it there.
For those that were curious. Surprisingly during filming it got a heck of a lot further than I original had it working. Even though this obviously doesn't really run, I can't believe this actually gets anywhere at all.
