I was checking all these PS1 games before I chuck them out and it seems a few have these custom boot menu's. I know its just copies and no value but atleast they should be documentated right? First up is Kalisto's release of Army Men Air Attack Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HguMfPfQTIo Screenshots of whats on the Army Men disk. Next Paradoxes release of Spyro 3: Year of the dragon This is an odd release as most of the data says Crash Bash. Which was a mario party style game for Crash Bandicoot & Friends Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4ErLxY1UWg Screenshots of disc contents: Last one I have Is Kalisto's release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6tKTzj0D0g Screenshots of data on disk:
Also at this moment in time some of the videos are still processing so check back later. I am wanting to release these if they aren't already available. If anybody wants to show me a quick guide to making a 1:1 copy please pm me?
Interesting, but I'll be damned if I can read that text at the bottom. All I could pick out was "jesus christ"
If i remember correctly some games even had cheats available and they were displayed at these screens you talk about. The only game (so far) that i remember having cheats was Resident Evil Nemesis as i think you could complete the game and get to the last cutscene/ending by pressing the shoulder buttons in some como that you read on the custom intro.
Won't Alcohol120% make a 1:1 copy? Or CDR-Win? A mate of mine used to sell hundreds of 'scene' PSX discs back in the day and apart from Clone CD the two I've mentioned were the only progs he ever used for backing up and burning.
Tony Hawk 2 is already @ pouet (the demo/intro archive), the rest is not. Here´s all so far archived stuff by Kalisto: http://pouet.net/groups.php?which=1608 Would be cool if you submitted those to pouet, not sure how to properly rip those intros out though. I think it´s the SLUS***.xx(number) file in each disc, not sure though. Try renaming it to *.psx and run it with epsxe... ^^
Yeah these have some like I mentioned in the quotations (my transcripts) Now I know which software to use to make a 1:1 copy I'll yank them off tomorrow and somebody can try pulling the intros.
My edit obviously was too late. ^^ Well, i´d try this before uploading some huge 700MB games. If you download one of the intros from pouet, you´ll see they are all 300-700 kb, so according to your directory screenshot it must be (in?) the SLUS*** files. Another edit: Hmm, the Tony Hawk 2 intro from pouet is only 401k opposed to the 844k of the SLUSxxx file on your disc, so i think it must be extracted somehow or whatnot. If the renaming trick doesn´t do it, i´d ask @ pouet how to do it, they are smart.
Your decision, i´d think the games are the same as the retail versions? So there wouldn´t be much point in uploading the whole (copyrighted OH deal when only the intro is interesting (the games are interesting too ofcourse ^^). Quite cool to see that there is still stuff missing from pouet. I always get a blast looking at oooold intros from the C64 days, which haven´t been seen at least 10 years and just been added to the archive. But i´m a weirdo.
i really miss these things, did intros ever appear on ps2 stuff? i know certain dreamcast releases did
Awesome! :love2: All work beautifully, for Spyro (the best one imho, really cool!) configure your video plugin to most compatible. And set an FPS limit. You need an account @ pouet and then click "Submit" on the right side. To make it a really nice release, you´d need to make a screenshot for each intro and pack each into a single zip though. They also don´t like one click hosters, but in this instance they´d surely understand it as a temporary solution until it gets uploaded to the scene.org servers (not sure if anyone can do that). Again: You da man! Edit: IF you want to, i could save you the hassle and earn all the pouet fame, since i already have an account. But then again, what are 5 minutes of work for becoming a living legend? Only PS2 cracktro @ pouet: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=8212 Also done by Kalisto. No intros... there must be some more imho. Click on Playstation2 for the rest ("only" demos). I could dive hours into pouet. ^^
Nice new individual links (mainly for pouet) Edit: You do it if you want. Pouet is taking the piss. The posts below have an nfo in it linking to my website anyway im not too fussed.
OK, i´ll do it then. Again, thanks a lot for releasing them, i´ll give you all the credit ofcourse.
They were just going to end up in the bin if I didn't that and it feel good to finally give something back to the community.
http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=57390 http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=57389 Well, that was quite some task. ^^ Try to find a free hoster that allows for hotlinking... Luckily i found one, Kiwi6. I first uploaded it into the incoming folder of the scene.org FTP, but that´s not allowed @ pouet... Pat your shoulder cyantist, these gems are now archived for eternity!
