Whats with FireFox and pictures not showing up?! First, I couldnt see stuff I posted, second, other members pictures "Dissappeared" as well, now I can't see my sig!!! I can see everything in IE, but Firefox is having problems. If this rate continues, Firefox will be text only, I guess. What a load of BS. :angry :die :smt096 :fu :funkinmu: :smt071 :smt067 :death
You and every net scammer out there somewhat akin to browsing the net with a target on your forehead... There's nothing wrong with firefox here, anyway mate. Must be your setup. Updated recently?
I'm using FireFox on Windows XP and have yet to have any issues. In fact, I find it much better and more reliable than IE. Maybe there's something wrong with your plugins or your internet settings? You may have used a weird wildcard on Adblock. It happened to me once, and I couldn't see any images from my own website.
hmm iv found maxthon is the best, its a hybrid of firefox and IE. I would never go back to IE, there is so much junk aimed at it
now every IE lover will look in this thread and say: IE's so much better, firefox's scrap. oh wait, it already begun.. héhé
cahaz... you all talk about fanboys but your tongue is soo far up firefox its not even funny. . . The only reason firefox is safe is because its new and hasnt been targeted yet... It is being now though and its not as safe as before. I have IE and windows firewall along with outlook express. No anti virus... every two months or so i will check for anti virus / spyware and havent found a single virus and nothing in spyware (well nothing thats a big issue) let in from IE... So i dont see anything wrong with it.
i can only see one person who has said that......that person being VGM (and Paulo after you posted that )
TBH, I find the key to not getting viruses and spyware (as seems to be the focus of this topic now) is more about where you browse, not what you browse with. I mean, sure browsers have their weaknesses but then again, each browser has its own pro's and con's.....and from those you just should decide which you like most and stick with that.
did i said i loved firefox anyway? i only said what the other said, that's all. oh, btw, i'm using konqueror too, since firefox is a big RAM eater. it's not that IE is shit, but because so many things are aimed at IE that you shouldn't use it (and i don't imagine this, i was a long time IE user, before i discovered Opera and so on until konqueror and firefox) (IE equal 90% percent of the websurfer surfing on the web right now, i don't know why those spammers (and all those kind of guys that are just here to annoy people) and all would try to break another websurfer's defense) , or at least, wenever you have the oportunity to use another one. Take whatever you want, Opera, Konqueror, Safari or even firefox (my favorite, indeed), but please don't take IE if you love your pc a bit. And since IE is bashed everywhere it can be (yeah..), IE lovers try to attack the oponent whenever possible, and since firefox is the biggest concurent of IE right now (just like Mac is the biggest oponent to PC, and Linux the biggest one versus Windows) , each ''clans'' , if you can call them this way, that fights for nothing and try to convert everyone finds good oportunities to get each others down. that's the way it is. and that's all what i was trying to say. Did i said firefox was better and/or shit in the first post? no. Did i said IE was better and/or shit in the other post? absolutly not. it was a neutral comment to share a fact. and i'm really only using firefox because it as a built-in pop-up stopper, a built-in search bar, others utilities you can easly download and i have a cool theme for it. spyware and virus doesn't efect me anymore, anyway. *cool dude wearing glasses here please*
Yeah, I've started to get some banners or pop-ups on Firefox. It was something... like Deja Vu, only crappier. Still, it's far better than IE. Maybe I'm traumatised because I had Windows Milennium for a while (shivers...) but I REALLY hate Explorer, and it has NEVER worked for me the way Firefox does, even today. It's a matter of where you browse, what you browse with, Your common sense, and HOW you clean up. FireFox + Ad-AWARE + Spybot Resident + AVG anti virus + Privacy Eraser = Browsing from a tank.
But it is being now... and then when it is we are going to be back to the whole "safe surfing" as TheDeathCoaster said. Thats truly the best way of browsing. Im getting sick of this "omg firefox is so great and its the end all of virus and spyware on the net" its not and its now starting to show its cracks... ***edit*** http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,120128,tk,dn032205X,00.asp http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/118912/65/ They are coming to a computer near you soon!
It's still far more secure to using IE and you should be wise enough to admit it. If you can't be bothered to make the transition to a new browser, just admit it, you don't need to pretend like you've got a reason to stay with IE.
I do have a reason to stay with IE. I find it a nicer browser to use. However im sick of people talking about Firefox like it hasnt got any problems and this whole "omg its better then IE you have to use it". It does have issues and it will be targeted alot more in the future.
