David Thomas...Anyone heard from him?

Megatron187, I have heard back from him and looking into options on the shipping for him. I was on hold for an hour yesterday for the post office and never got someone to answer, I plan to make a trip to the post office and find out the options. David does have a paypal account still so that will work still. I'm going to guess that I will end up having to cover the initial costs of the shipping to people and then ask to be repaid by people. So either the COD works out or I will find a way to get this fixed and have everyone get the stuff back from him.

Fedex won't charge you for shipping until the item is delivered. So you can print a shipping label, but if they never receive/ship the item, your account won't be charged. (I personally find this Fedex method very annoying as a business owner when trying to crunch my numbers for the month... but in these circumstance I can see it being very handy!)

I will give them a call and see what I can find out. I plan to try all three of the majors (USPS, FedEx, and UPS) and see how this will work.

If it comes to that man I will do it. I should be getting my tax refunds in a couple weeks so worst case I will have to use that for the time being to help get things back into peoples hands. If people promise to pay me back as soon as they receive the packages (plus paypal fees) then I will loose nothing in the process and will help get people their property back and hopefully get a way to help David out at same time.

I prefer to go the COD route first if it works out how it sounds. If not then I have a backup option atleast.

I plan to keep working on having him get all the small item packages out first, and then once those are done, work on the more detailed stuff (like installs, repairs, etc). He mentioned something about having a few items that he will need to sell but told him I doubt anyone will trust him on that until everything that is owed to people is returned.

 

Ill take a risk on buying from him, if I can get that blue xbox and blue x3cp for $100 that should cover most all the shipping charges he needs

He would never sell that blue xbox for only 100. It's worth way more than that. Those xboxes with the xecuter faceplate go for upwards of 300-400$

I agree. He should sell off some stuff. His house looks like an xbox hoarder. But then again who would trust him to actually send anything. What if he has another accident or death in the family

 

Those x3cp boxes do not go for that much, $200-250 from what I seen. Black ones of course, not sure about what blues are worth.

Would be a good way to get money to ship items owed and work on cleaning his name up around the forum though. Not necessarily selling me that blue x3 Xbox, but selling something off for a good deal to straighten the mess up himself instead of having people pay shipping again

 

If hes got another Red xcm case and willing to sell for a good price, im willing to go for that. As long as he ships it right away, doesn't have to be with my other things since its a detailed list.

 

He has plenty of extras to sell if he needs money...

For my small package its not a big deal, whats another 6 bucks. wizard, sent you a PM.

But for the large packages perhaps people send him pre-paid labels, usps or ups etc. (so he can't take the money and run)

 

citrus3000psi, I responded to you pm. Your package should be going out hopefully tomorrow. He is using first class mail with tracking. David says he should be able to find the money to mail that one.

after talking to him for all this time via text I am 100% sure he is legit and has just hit a wall of bad luck, one after the other. As I have said before I'm willing to do what ever I can to help everyone get the stuff back they are owed. With all the issues that have happened I can understand people not willing to trust so soon since they have not gotten anything back yet. But if I can trust everyone to pay me back after the receive the packages back to them then I loose nothing, and am able to help the community that I am part of. But if people send me money and then I have to send it to David then that is 2 times the fees charged.

How I plan to send the money is using a fees calculator online and then add that into the amount I am sending to David. so he gets the full amount and basically nothing else. The next package going out will be around $16 for 2 day shipping with tracking so not a huge risk on my part. The only ones that will be are the international packages and I have already talked to one of them about it.
