Does anyone else daydream of meeting their favourite developers and talking to them about their games? I would kill to meet Yuji naka or Yu suzuki.
Tim Schafer? Is he the new programmer for Epic? I've seen Tim Sweeney, and CliffyB in person but not talk to them directly. I've also talked to the CEO of Tiburon Entertainment (makers of anything Madden), cool guy but seems overworked lol.
Julian LeFay is a hermit . I haven't really dreamed of meeting anyone (other than LeFay), but it would be pretty cool to meet Ted Peterson. Most of the people at Bethesda now are dicks, though. Console developers? None come to mind that I really care for.
Just like Koolkid, I would like to meet Yuji Naka and Yu Suzuki. First I would need a translator though, if not provided by either.
Tim Schafer would probably be an interesting, if unusual, guy to meet (If nothing else I have to say that Grim Fandango and Psychonauts were both very inspired).
Tim Schafer is the man behind Day of the tentacle, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts and lots of more games The Tim you're thinking of is Tim Johnson
All of my daydreams include naked women, or me flying some type of small, UFO-like aircraft through the city. That's about it. That and being rich.
daydreaming about making IK 1, 2 and + on GBA and making a remake of OMF2097 that is 100 % compatible with the old files you can get (tournaments extra robots etc.) and it will run in windows and linux just a shame nobody remembers IK 1 and 2 on C64 although they praise IK+ since IK 1 and 2 rocked hardcore also. and making other remakes of good old fighters.
My daydreams usually consist of me renacting extremely violent scenarios over and over and over again, compensating and calculating for evey little variation, all the "could haves" and "what ifs," and usually end with.... uhh..... And also lots and lots of chicks. And me being able to fly. Like in DBZ. And shoot rays out of my hands.
I used to zone out in Algebra and dream that I had a lightsaber. The dream would consist of me running across the street to K-mart and slicing up everyone in the electronics section. I'd take all of the (decent) stuff after that. If it tells you anything, K-mart was the coolest place to go back in 8th grade. The city has gotten a little bigger since, but not much .
I have no desire to meet any game developers. But women...like everyone else, I daydream about women constantly!
'twould be cool to have a drink with whoever designed the Saturn, imho That and Michael Abrash (co-author of Quake), man, his programming articles are so damn good
