Hi everyone, my name is Tachikoma, and im an ex DB-er

It's been about 6 years since I watched an episode and though "gee I really hope they never stop making these"

Since I realised they are nothing more than a drawn out mess, with dubious scripting and shoddy animation, my life has been better.

People say its cool to hate the DB series because its old, I say its cool to like it if you want, but for me, even back then people must have had doubts. Sure it may be one of the most succesful series' ever in Anime history, but have you really taken a step back and had a hard look at it?

The original series was mildly enjoyable, little Goku and a young Bulma wandering around looking for the Dragon Balls. Getting into mischief with those dastardly Red Ribbon Army chaps! Since then though, it has been a mess, the first "saga" in all wasn't too bad. What killed the series, was the fact each and every other "saga" was exactly the fucking same, but with a different bad guy, and Vegeta swapping sides every now and then.

I'm glad I finally shook that monkey (no pun intended) off my back, it let me finally appreciate effort in plot writing in real anime.

Now where's my Onegai Sensei boxset got too...?

Of course Dragonball is redundant, but its made to appeal to little kids. Little kids generally like watching the same .shit recycled over and over.

People can definately dislike it, just because of what it is. I'm not saying everyone should like it. But no one can deny that it is not anime, nevertheless a decent one. Afterall it defines the kiddie anime genre. Also, its not just a mildly successfull anime, its by far THE most successfull anime series, period.

I used to be a fair bit of a DB/Z fanboy. I still like watchign the show now and again....apart from the FReiza saga and everything after the Android saga ^_^

In my honest opinion, there wasn't enough Yamcha in Dragonball Z! He's my favourite character :smt023

I don't hate DB/Z though....just not all that interested in it anymore.

I have a friend in Japan in the process of getting me the first $1000 DBZ Box set. I'm sure everyone in Japan has heard of it, with all the advertisements everywhere in Tokyo :)

Hehe I have all the DB manga (Shonen Jump tankouban) and a few other "behind the scenes" books in Japanese packed away. Also have a few Chinese manga for some reason. Oh, I also have an autographed portrait of Goku drawn and signed by Toriyama sensei :)

They.... They are making a Dragon Ball Z movie?

    Oh god please no...

    NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

We have to stop them. We have to all hitchike to Hollywood Jay and Silent Bob style and kick thier asses before they can fuck up DBZ forever. I live in LA, we can use my place as a home base. I'll start buying some stinkbombs and slingshots. My sister is an Agent for DPs, she can get us passes at the studio. We must all dress up in Goku uniforms and wage nonstop gurilla warfare, spikes in the tires, TP thier houses, sending a bunch of pizzas that they didn't order, the works.

We have to save Dragon ball. Now is the time for all great men to come to the aid of DBZ. We have nothing to fear but Hollywood. United we stand, divided they make this shitty movie. We have nothing to lose, and they have millions of dollars to lose. We can defeat them.

    Viva la resistance.
