just got myself a nice decr-1000a and a brand new retail ps3 controller , i cant get the thing to sync the controller to it currently its plugged in via usb and im pressing the ps button so the 4 leds flash , but it never syncs
Is that from the communication processor? Are you booted into release mode or into dev mode? I believe I've paired a retail CECHZC2U DualShock 3 with a DECR-1000A before. I can haul it out again in a bit to verify.
i think your tool has a low firmware, and do not support retail controller. For this you can use the reference controller (decr-1010), or you have to update your firmware.
I just checked a DECR-1000A. Your control processor firmware is relatively new (1.0.0 / 1.3.3), so no worries there. Boot the console into System Software Mode. Log into the control processor, navigate to User > Boot params, edit Boot Mode (then hit the "Settings" button at the bottom). Navigate to User > Target and hit Reboot. You should be greeted with the normal PS3 XMB. What is the system software version there? This DECR-1000A is running system software 4.00 and works fine with a wired retail sixaxis. Wireless doesn't seem to work.
