Hi there ! Sorry to bother you with DECR and create another topic because we have a big problem: we installed on a DECR firmware 4.78 REBUG to launch games but without success (again !). After several maneuvers (some surely incorrects), the DECR is out of order ! It lights up, but freeze 10 seconds after. In Console Output in TM, I saw "Lv2 Error" + "Dump Interrupts" ...

I tried to make an update via TM, it does not work, ditto with the Recovery Menu ...

    Would you know a solution?

I hate it when my dump gets interrupted... give it some private time.

In all seriousness, do you get any lights out of the ordinary?

    Check your PMs

Also be sure to resign the eboots to be usable on DEX systems (fself) as they arent meant to run retail eboots like a DECH can

Yes, but like on the XMB or debug mode, DECR freezes 10 seconds after...

sigh... you need to flash an ebootrom in that case. use mingw as working environment (you can use PSDK3v2 as example) and follow the procedure exactly according to the manual.

I didn't know there was a public version of Rebug 4.78.1 for DECR. I didn't find it on rebug.me so I am not sure what firmware exactly it is that you attempted to install.

You will indeed need to install an ebootrom, the only officially compatible ebootrom available is the 1.00 ebootrom that comes with the sdk, you may however craft your own ebootrom with a newer coreos (at your own risks)
Assuming lv1 still runs you should be able to install it despite lv2 crashing on you.

I didn't know Joonie was a she. All these years thinking he was a regular guy that loves to hack PS3's

Does installing an ebootrom mean the DECR will be downgraded? In System Update on mine it tells me that I can go all the way down to 1.00 but I can't downgrade it any lower than 1.60, an 800xxxx error pops up and I have to re-flash it through TM.

Yes, flashing the ebootrom downgrades your console.

Understood, I don't know if my DECR can go all the way down to the lowest leaked bootrom available, prob 0.85 or 0.60. Do you think it can be done? @mathieulh

You will brick if you go that low. That's not an assumption.

I assume only CEB units can go that low.

Some DEH units actually do. Not the DECR-1000 however.

The 0.85.009 firmware that exists on ebootrom isn't the one that comes pre-flashed on DEH-R1040 or early DECR-1000 so you will brick if you downgrade to it.
