    Hyperspin is a great front end but can be fiddly to setup and yeah you wont usually find 100% artwork and videos so some manual work will be required however is totally worth it, congrats on your build its quite impressive

    Yeah should be ok, most of the emulation is thrown onto the CPU, so the GPU just does video scaling/effects...

    I can't express how jealous I am because of these builds! I'm almost angry at how pathetic my abilities are at doing any of this stuff.

    Not sure whether I hate you guys, or love you? :)

    No disrespect to the OP because he did a really nice job but what's difficult about this? If you can use lego, you can build a nice PC.

    As for the controller, well that's a different story but again they're not too difficult to learn to do.

    I have a dell XPS with a dead mob. I was thinking about stripping it down and building it for the a dedicated emu pc. It has a duo core 2 6850, Radeon 5770, and 8gb ddr3 1600mhz. Would this be a good setup start? Im
    mostly looking to play old roms but would I be able to play n64 and GameCube? Im
    looking to play 4 player games with my friend in the living room.

    also great build by the way! It's impressive and well worth the money and work!

    Hi there , after looking for some advice in this subject a friend sent me to this site so hopefully I've come to the right place :D.
    I'm looking to build a kickass Emu Box. Instead of the really oldschool systems however I'm looking to make a box that runs the following.
    PsP , PsX , Ps2 , GameCube , Wii , NDS and Dreamcast games and some PC games. Now my desktop can run these emulators without a problem but has limited storage space since I'm mostly using SSDs and I'll be building this as a gift so I definitely can't use my own PC XD.

    Below is the build I'm considering.

    Storage : 4x
    Western Digital Caviar Green WD40EZRX 4TB Sata III
    CPU :
    Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell 3.4Ghz
    GPU :
    Asus GTX660

    PSU : Corsair GS 700W 2013 Edition Active PFC 14cm Fan

    What I'm not sure about is the cooling , Motherboard , how much Ram , what OS and an aesthetically pleasing but small case , something that can be in a living room.

    For a case I was thinking about a BitFenix Prodigy but I'm not sure if it would all fit and not overheat.

    Bitfenix_Prodigy_GTX690.JPG
    Am I going under/overboard with the specs ? what can I do to run all the emulators/games as smoothly as possible but also reduce cost where its possible.

    Any/ALL help will be very appreciated :D

    The CPU is spot on, you will need that extra grunt for 'some' PS2, Wii and GameCube. I'm currently running most PS2 games flawlessly using an i3, but there is noticable slowdowns in games like Metal Gear Solid 2. Also, use Windows 7 for your OS - PCSX2 and Dolphin can use DirectX 11 and is often more compatible.

    Still working on my setup, infact i was configuring PS2 games for it just a few hours ago. Should really get a video uploaded...

    @urbangangsta101:
    I have so much respect for all the work you've put into these different machines that you've up and running (watched your YouTube channel multiple times), and I wish I had that same technical knowledge. But Instead of building an emulator PC myself, I'm thinking of buying a mini-pc with windows 8. And I would like to have your opinion on this :)

    The machine that I have in mind is: http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VM60-G067R-ASUS-Desktop/dp/B00J2DXUWQ
    And the emulators I would like to run on it are: N64, PSX and hopefully Dreamcast and Gamecube.

    I would really appreciate your reply if this is machine strong enough to run these. And if not, what you would recommend :)

    Thanks so much,
    Chris

    I do! I'll try to help you. :)

    N64 = Depends on emulator.
    PSX = Yes
    Dreamcast = Depends on emulator.
    Gamecube = Probably too slow. :(

    This is based on my experience on using emulators on a variety of systems.

    Hey
    I have been reading about your emulation boxes and was looking at doing something similar. I see that your very knowledgeable and wondered if you could help me decide on what I need? I have been out of the hardware stuff for some time... so I am not sure what I need......

    I have hyper spin with emulators from about Dreamcast down. I am trying to find a system to hook up to HDMI tv, use wireless gamepads, somewhat compact, and play the games full speed. Can you help? I am on a tight budget.... also in Canada...

    I appreciate any info/feedback

    Thanks
    Jim
