I wanted to express my disappointment felt related to deletion of my posts today. I think now it was because I thought a member (a moderator) wasn't telling the truth, so I questioned it. I think my posts were deleted because of that. I felt something was not right/was not true, so I asked about it, but my posts were then later deleted. I said/did nothing wrong. I think it is not right to delete posts to hide something. Thank you to the member that helped/sent me PM about it today. ^_~ He made me feel I was right to question things.
It was me who deleted the posts. I posted the wrong image which will be replaced when I arrive home tonight. Therefore the posts are invalid. I posted an image of recent buys when I should have posted an image of stuff I found in the loft.
-1 My first post was ignored for one day which I think is not like you to do such thing. Because of this I posted again with more details against what you said and only then did you delete them. I think then only after I create this thread you delete your picture and speak about this and notice/say you uploaded wrong picture two days later. You deleted my posts to hide that you lied. My posts were valid, and I think even now if you change picture and story they still would be. I said/did nothing wrong. I think to say you uploaded wrong picture was the only excuse you had, and you have used it.
Well, don't forget that I'm a 35 year old married man with a child and I live on the other side of the world so there is a perfectly good reason for not answering to your original post within a day because I didn't see it due to having no time to visit every section of the forum and time difference between countries. I did post the wrong picture due to rushing to get things done. Most of the time I'm using the phone to browse this site between jobs. As for deleting the post, that was because the topic is now irrelevant but mostly I don't want the prices I pay for stuff made public for all to see. I do run a store you know. Letting people know what I pay for stuff isn't the brightest idea when trying to sell stuff. the correct picture will be added soon while I will re-write the one I did post to my latest buys. Yakumo
Seriously this +1000 Just because you live on the internet all the time and think a reply not made within a day is a conspiracy doesn't mean the rest of the world operates this way.
I don't operate like that. I think if you read things properly, you would see why I thought a reply wasn't made. ¬_¬ But, I felt my posts were deleted as a reply. My posts were relevant at that time, but then they were made irrelevant just by yourself because of deleting your picture/changing what you said. I can post a link of any auction I wish, whever you won it or somebody else did, it does not matter. I think you have no right to delete them because of personal interest. You lied and because I saw that you deleted my posts.
@Juste, Any of us adults who still have some decent cognitive function left in our brains can see while he had plenty of time to nuke your posts... then goes on to state "I didn't see it". 1+1 still ='s 2 here mate.
The time taken to reply/not reply isn't even the issue. I never once said it was. The reason why my posts were deleted is. The deletion of my posts to hide a lie is. Why should my posts be deleted because of that, because somebody did not tell the truth and was found out.
I think I understand why Juste is upset. If a regular member makes a mistake in his or her post, this person would only be able to edit his/her post. And thus leaving the already made replys intact. In general a few replys that are being made irrelevant should not be any problem, especially in the "Post every time you buy/trade something Part VIII"-topic. IMO admins/mods should only use their 'mod powers' if it is really needed. I'm slightly under the impression that the decision Yakumo made was more on personal grounds then being based on the ASSEMblergames ethics. I guess all this could have been prevented if Yakumo sended Juste a PM, asking for the edit/removal of his post.. instead of deleting it himself. Just like any other member would have done.
BTW wombat IIRC people can delete their own posts without mod powers, I don't think they can do it if it is the thread OP though as that would constitute thread deletion. If it was me I would have been more inclined to have left the posts (even though they slightly derailed the topic) then replied to correec the issue, but different people will always see things differently, thus there is no 'wrong' action here so it is not one that can be condoned, or condemned, but it could have gone down another way with less hassle. We are only human. Life is too short for arguments over petty incidents. IMO pass the peace pipe and live on - let snot forget my post got deleted too and I'm not bothered one way or the other
To the former, affirmative. The post still shows up as "DELETED BY $POSTER" but the post content is no longer there. I'd imagine the latter is true though.
All I ever wanted to say was that I felt it was not right to delete my posts for personal reasons. The time taken to reply/not reply was never the issue. I would never be bothered by something like that.
What ever happened to the no deletion rule except in extreme circumstances? That seemed to work fine.
